the campaign mode at a fictitious time that flows that means that it starts in 1939 and ends in 1946 all the players start with the same things in 39 and continue to upgrade they get new means that can be used from a certain year onwards which means that a new player can use the t-60 as far as 46 but a veteran player who cannot use IS-2 in 39 at all must wait for 45 this is the same for the rest of the equipment
moreover, the campaign lasts a maximum of 1 week before the reset so there is no problem you just have to play power up and have fun or at least this is a solution to your question and who wrote the post
Oh I see the difference. I quit WT because of shit like this, Soviet Cold War light tanks vs Panzer 4H… we don’t need that here… And I really don’t want to face Jumbo in PZ3 B…
There are faults like PZ3 B in Moscow, FG42 for everyone, but we should bitch about it, not encourage it.
And what is next? Deathmatch? Free for all? No support from me on this.
when i said i don’t see the difference i meant i know that you say i know that units of different eras fighting are unbalanced what i say and think also the author of the post a global campaign that every week goes on a month allows starting from 1939 al 1946 allows anyone to use the game without seeing crap like the jumbo bullying the poor panzer 3 and use the same weapons at the same time of course as long as the player has the necessary level to use them
I agree that current campaigns are problem.
In my opinion common way to play is to choose one side in one campaign - so typical player play on 1/3 of maps (often only one side) and use 1/3? 1/4? of weapons.
Example: now I’m grinding US side on Normandy campaign. Most of time I spend with one weapon (M1 Garand) on few, very similar looking, maps. I can change campaign off course, but then I have to star from beginning with simplest weapons.
This mechanics can discourage…
This would create more problems than it’d solve.
Yes, it would reduce the grind (which is not too terrible to start with, but I get it). However, you’d have to somehow match the equipment to the time period. You may say: “well, not a biggie - just introduce different loadouts per soldier to maintain period accuracy” - that’s another system for the devs to implement, plus it’d have to be “smart” to some degree so you don’t have to confirm each soldier’s loadout before you are allowed to join the match., etc., etc.
Plus, this is a massive change to the game’s core mechanics. I don’t want to crap on devs, they’re doing a big job, but we have minor bugs that are not being fixed for ages, you want them to change the core mechanics?
There are easier and faster ways to do this. They easiest one is to combine all equipment from all campaigns into a single stockpile and leave everything else as is (for now?).
I could go in-depth with a possible solution, but I’d rather see them at least start moving in that direction before putting in too much effort. There are too many small details to take into account.
The way I see it, general idea is to be able to either join specific time period or to take a loadout that isn’t terribly specific and join a battle within the appropriate range. Infantry weapons would mostly only have limitations on how early they can be used (no MG42 in 1941 for example), but vehicles would also have a date when they become obsolete and can’t join battles that take place later than that (for example, no T-60 past 1943). I probably have something different in mind from other people here, though.
