New US handguns

crazy. thanks for providing source that the M2 carbine is bullshit and shouldn’t be in Normandy.

I agree just make them seperate trees so i can unlock my American stuff without grinding through stuff im not interested in.

it should go
Normandy
Allies
then you select Commonwealth or USA. Not intermixing to 2. It robs both countries of full trees. And nerfs the hell out of US Small arms.

So the problem is on the Wikipedia the Bazooka rockets are all the penetration values are listed at the 60 degree sloping

whereas the German rockes have huge indepth explanations.

My book about Bazookas (and other AT weapons). rates the rockets at what i listed them.

I mean, I’m not only basing things off of wikipedia, and I am checking other sources, but fair enough? I just haven’t seen anything suggesting those figures were for at a slope rather than for flat penetration.

Also that it would still probably be better to have PIAT vs Sturmpistole or AT rifle grenades than let the panzershreck in, IMO.

No need to be rude. You’re free to also argue against the FG-42, Sherman Jumbo, the scoped M1 Garand (I assume M1C or M1D Garand), and the even more absurd Ross rifle which I would be quite surprised if it ever saw any use in Tunisia or for that matter in any part of WWII. So, no, it is clarified that the M2 Carbine DID NOT exist during the D-Day landings, and I can go a step farther insofar that Germany was BTFO out of France by August 30th 1944 thus by the introduction of the M2 Carbine on 26 October 1944, it seems they were either fighting in Belgium or were already in Germany so it didn’t even exist in France.

Be civil, there is no need to be so hostile and unpleasant. It seems like they’re allowing in the Normandy Campaign basically any weapon/tank that was available in WWII, from the beginning to the end, seems like they should just rename it “Western Front 1944-45” meanwhile the Moscow Campaign and the Berlin Campaign appear to more clearly discern the difference between the Eastern Front in 1941-42, and the Eastern Front… well… literally the end of the war in Europe when the Commies are banging at Hitler’s bunker door. Yes it’s all set in France, and yes realistically the M2 Carbine and possibly also the Jumbo should not be present, but we’re dealing with what we have. We will see if we can coax Gaijin into a more historically accurate direction, but for the time being they’re still developing the game and they’re going with a somewhat Battlefield vibe in which many historically SLIGHTLY-inaccurate firearms, also including firearms that never really left the prototype stage (like the Pederson Device) are being included. Even full squads can be made to field G43 rifles, except those who get LMGs or SMGs, so the Germans get pampered in ways as well. Be fair.

So please, let’s deal with what we have and not hurl unpleasantness at one another. Suggesting the inclusion of Glocks, claiming “Rules for thee but not for me,” “Cope so hard,” “Stop spreading misinformation,” “Uh well ackshually…” it’s not doing any bloody good.

Honestly, yes, I would like a push towards more realism, I think it’s silly and historically inaccurate to have Jumbos (as much as I love 'em), M2 Carbines, and scoped Garands on the beaches of Normandy. That’s not what we got, we got what Gaijin is giving us and it is historically inaccurate on BOTH sides. If you need to unload, to vent on how you seem to view the US as getting better treatment of Germany, I don’t think it has to do with US handguns so it might be best to make your own ‘Suggestions’ thread and get it off your chest there. If you like, you can even message me about it, and I’ll have a look and give my perspective on the matter. Perhaps we’ll butt heads, or maybe we’ll find common ground, or maybe both. I don’t think you’re particularly helping matters here at the moment though.

Definitely not saying Germany suffers with the absurd amount of G43s and FG42s they get. I’d remove the FG42s from general use and squad lock them to sniper II and Gunner II squads, converting both to fallschirmjaeger units.

“western front 1944-45” I honestly think that’s a good idea if we want to stay on the path of just a mish mash of everything. A mosaic of a wider view of the war.

Honestly prototype weapons staying as golden orders I think is totally cool. I doubt the pederson device saw combat but I see them so rarely I think it’s a fun addition more than anything.

Thanks for the well thought about post bro.

And to stay on topic the subject of personally owned handguns on all sides has been well researched and there’s plenty of evidence of a lot of soldiers carrying unauthorized pistols either found in combat (at police stations etc.) or brought from home.

I’m glad to see the pleasant response, and I’m glad to see that you don’t seem to have seen my reply as offensive. This warms my heart, cheers, and God bless.

You know, THAT would be a good opportunity for Gaijin to create some premium squads. Not overpowered in the slightest but with custom Canadians / Brits uniforms and weapons. 22e royal regiment made of crazy French Canadians lumberjacks? I’d buy that in a heartbeat. They used mixed weaponry from both USA and Brits along with their own versions of Brit ones, so it would add nicely.

As we talk of this why not add some war heros for gold personnel orders? The one eyed sniper pirate commando lumberjack I use as a picture avatar would do nicely. Or that Brit nutcase officer who charged with a sword and a longbow.

Ah, good ol’ mad jack churchill. Yeah, I’d pay $50 for a premium squad with mad jack; charging into battle with a longbow and claymore, bagpipes on his back, scottsmen carrying Thompsons filling the rest of his squad. We could have him in the fall of france, invasion of Italy, or Yugoslavian campaigns, should any of them come up in the future.
