New upgrade system is another worldy better than previous academy

first of all, it’s using MY way not yours and maybe something’s wrong in calculation part
for free player do your own calculation, please think about this

as end level premium player i use 6 squad
2 assaulter, 1 gunner, 1 tank, 1 bomber, 1 fighter
all combined i have 28 soldier mean i need to spend 28 silver order to get Soldier I to fill them all (Soldier II or III is practically not worth it, dont consider it)

let’s assume you have super bad luck and all the soldier you get are 2 star
mean you need to pay about 12 bronze to upgrade them to 4 star, or 5 star enough to get +75% faster medkit usage (8), +200% more HP restored by medkit (8), and +50% throwing granade range (6) on every soldier

28 * 12 = 336 to upgrade all of them to 4 star, this is so much better considering i have spent much more than that just to get squad full of 4 star not to mention about the time i spent for academy, time spent in order & send to rear, time spent to full star lower star soldier to combine them, brain power, and piling unwanted soldiers class

if solider bronze order is obtained every 6k EXP then all you need is about 2.016.000 EXP, it’s sounds a lot but you get this much once you reach level between 23-24 (or 16-17 if they really cut the requirement into half based on what i read) while using academy system, even when i reach level 32 all of my squad still hadnt been full of 4 star yet, i maybe had enough mats to do so but it’s just simply too tiring because the thing i said on previous paragraph while using bronze upgrade you are free from those tiring stuff, just click and DONE

my assumption is the dev would just add silver order to EXP grind like bronze but every 50k or something, that’s already consideribly a low because you dont really need more than 28 silver order for every campaign

the only reason this methode is bad because it’s hard to gather silver order but that’s it, once it get fixed then everything gonna be fine

there are things i forgot to add but i’ll add them once i remember below
edit 1: there also free soldier that will decrease your Silver order requirement

It’s a better concept overall.

They just need a way for casual players to get the same soldiers we, active players have.

Just that.

You’re also assuming that players will simply not use any other soldiers than those they want for their endgame. I guess some people will be happy with not using the best class of soldier, but I certainly wouldn’t be. They plan on making stats have an inherent bonus as well, not just to qualify for perks.

This also means skipping improvements on every soldier class that is later replaced.

For example this would mean you do not purchase any new Assault I’s… or Assault II’s. and you certainly don’t improve stats or levels of those that come by default with the squads. Just grind all the way to campaign level 30 (Moscow) with stock crew.

Of course not investing on earlier soldiers means your rate of experience gain suffers…

It’s not so bad for people who already have some orders in reserve or who already did (most of) the campaign level grind, obviously.

Actually if you are going for pure T1 troops you do not even need that much. Consider pilot squads come with a pilot all you need is 36bronze to go from 1 star to 5 star and I believe they start at 3 star.

Tank squads usually need about 5 man and come with 3. So far spended 2 silver. You can decide to stick with 3 to invest other places first.

Assault squads you just need to buy 3 assaulters and 1 engineer. with 2 squads that is 10 silver spend.

Gunner squad requires 2 gunners and a engineer. Now you spended 13 silver.

The troopers in those squads can fill up the rest of the slots for the time being or till you decide you want to invest more in them. I need to check how many silver orders you can grab at the start when I can get online. (achievements and like first week of login reward) but, I think it should cover at least 1 campaign faction depending on your spending.

The biggest issue would now be. What if I want to play another campaign or side?

do things all over again, it’s just normal for grind-based game

Very true, It is to be expected. Mainly just harder now to start another campaign if you are f2p.

Actually, leveling a tier I soldier (Assaulter I, Rifleman I, etc) is now so cheap that it is much cheaper upgrading a tier I soldier from 1 to 5 stars than upgrading a tier III soldier from 4 to 5 stars.
This makes tier II and III soldiers about useless, because their perk advantage is very small.
I think they will realize this and tune a bit the upgrade costs (hopefully by making tier II and III soldiers upgrades cost less).
Overall I am happy about not having to shuffle soldiers in and out of squads anymore , and not having to play with 1-2 stars soldiers to be sacrificed in the academy. Although that was not too bad (a game in the game) now it is much simpler.

In fact, it took me over 600 bronze and hours of managing reserves to maximize my new Assaulter squad. Its would be much better witj the new system.

I think they should make silver order easier to gain. It takes too long to fill up a squad without elite battle pass.

Oh, I forgot that besides 600 bronze, I also used likely 6-7 silvers.

It is late for it now because devs decided to monetize squad slots and go for different approach but… I can say what is on my mind.

If you ask me I would rather have system that allows you to use all of your squads once per battle. If and when all of your squads die, they they are unlocked all over again. But very few battles last so long.

This would force you to equip even more and more soldiers with each level of campaign you unlock. You cant use your 3 elite squads all the time but guns and veterans spread across all of your squads you unlocked.

It would surely be harder to keep all of your army as rambo terminators. If you chose to do so you would probably have to sell a house to buy everything for them.

And it would allow some good tactical chooses. Do I go in with engineers now or later?
Do I use my SMG veterans early in the game or for later stage when we get to houses? Should I take Pz4E now or later during the game?

But OFC, without Bronze orders giving soldiers this would be suicide now.

It effectively makes them a more expensive side grade for endgame when and if you decide to min max their perks. Which is fine.

The only thing I would like added is a discount Upgrades similar to the weapon upgrade discount

What is for “training” that cost 3 bronze?

+1 to Weapon Handling, Speed or Vitality, randomly selected up to a maximum defined by soldier maximum level.

The cost to upgrade stat directly reduces cost to level up the soldier, so if you haven’t got other use for the bronzes at the moment, go ahead and use them as there are only positives to be had. If you plan to increase soldier level, then do that as it’s less clicking for same cost.

But does it change something for a 5 stars soldier stats ? If I buy training on them, when I will buy the 5 stars my for my soldier, he will have better stats or not? Because I have bought directly the 5th stars at the cost of 50 bronze without “training” for my soldiers.

I want to know the answer to this exact question as well.

Please if someone knows then enlighten us.

It is very simple actually. Both of the buttons do the same thing. The only difference is the Left button instantly upgrades your soldier to the next star level-cap. While the button on the right upgrades it step by step. Every 6 clicks increases the star-cap. I guess this is useful if you have 13 of the 14 speed required for a perk and do not want to commit all the bronze orders required to increase star-cap.

you implied 5* have training button?
no, they dont have it

Yes but to clarify.

Do I get the same skill point outcome on lets say 2 soldiers with exactly same skill points and both are level 3 same tier (identical) across the board if I -

  • Upgrade soldier A using the left option.

  • Use right upgrade option I upgrade soldier B until he changes level

Do the skill points still end up at exactly same value?

I only had 50 or so bronze tickets yesterday so didn’t get a chance to test properly. Appreciate the feedback. Thanks

As far I know it is possible that Soldier A gets like 14/10/12 while Soldier B gets like 13/11/12. But the total amount of perk points they get should be the same.
