New Tech Tree(no more tech 'line')

Proposal’s objective:

1.Give players some freedom to choose what weapon, tanks, and planes they want to grind

2.Getting rid of ‘weapon-squad bond’

3.Making a tech ‘line’ into a tech tree

A ‘weapon-squad bond’ is a word I came up with to describe that in order to upgrade a weapon, you have to grind(or use gold to level up) the specific squad which has the upgrade tab of the weapon(m1 garand in Normandy-radio operator squad).

Changes:

All weapon upgrades is deleted from the squad upgrades(literally all of them, including mortars, AT weapon etc)

All classes of type I are unlocked to everyone(even a f2p newbie can get flametrooper Is from logistics)

A new tab named ‘research’ is created next to the ‘squads’ tab

When you click on the ‘research’ tab, a tech tree will be shown.

Tech Tree

The tech tree is divided by the type of the weapon:

-Bolt-action and semi-auto rifles(includes sniper)

-Select-fire rifles

-Semi-machine guns and assault rifles

-Machine guns

-AT weapons

-Flamethrower

-Mortar

-Grenades and mines

Already unlocked at the beginning: melee weapons(axe, shovel), water flask, binocular,

One bolt-action, one smg, one grenade

Like war thunder, you choose a weapon(at the beginning, it would be a bolt-action, smg, or grenade) to grind. The other weapon types will be unlocked after you unlock a certain number of weapons in the tech tree regardless of type.

For example:

Machine gun: after unlocking 3 weapons

Sf rifles: after unlocking 10 weapons

Each ‘weapon type tree’ may include side-grades, which lead to unique weapons that some players might want to try out.

For upgradeable weapons, the points for weapon upgrades can be gained by scoring kills(points) with that weapon. Click on the weapon in the tech tree, and you will see the weapon upgrade tab on the right side of the screen.

The same principle applies to tanks and planes.

I think they should have a separate tree for early, mid and late war where some weapons that are available in early or mid war should be available for late war right away where they should be used even if not unlocked the squad yet as a reward. Its something like World of Tanks where some modules carry over to ease stock grind.

Of course there should be this freedom of which part of the war a player wants to grind first like Normandy where he can use some of his Normandy unlocks to Tunisia without unlocking the squad first.

Where is the Dislike button!
