I suggested adding Damage Per Second and Recoil Per Second statistics to the Enlisted resource but my comment got nuked twice.
Now I’m assuming it’s because I keep mentioning Recoil Per Second which many users think doesn’t exist due to their misunderstanding of how recoil works in this game, which is understandable so I’ll explain it real quick.
Recoil in Enlisted happens in the same way damage does, when you fire your weapon the weapon fires a bullet which deals damage if it hits someone, the same thing happens with recoil, the weapon moves a certain amount vertically and horizontally each time the weapon is fired.
Now that you know how the recoil is coded you’ve probably realized that since it happens every time the weapon is fired, the fire rate is the ultimate factor in how a weapon actually handles so let’s do some math!
Let’s first find the Vertical and Horizontal Recoil Per Minute of the MP-40. The MP-40 has 8 Vertical and 3 Horizontal Recoil Per Shot. The MP-40 has a fire rate of 570 Rounds Per Minute, So 8 × 570 = 4560 and 3 × 570 = 1710.
But we only want the Recoil Per Second since in game we usually fire 1-3 second bursts. To do that we divide our Vertical and Horizontal Recoil Per Minute by 60. (4560 ÷ 60 = 76 Vertical Recoil Per Second)(1710 ÷ 60 = 28.5 Horizontal Recoil Per Second ) So our Total Recoil Per Second with MP-40 at base value is 104.5.
Now let’s compare that to the PPSh-41. PPSh-41 has 8 Vertical and 4 Horizontal, so 8 × 1150 = 9200, 9200 ÷ 60 = 153.333333 for our Vertical. 4 × 1150 = 4600, 4600 ÷ 60 = 76.6666667 for our Horizontal. And our Total Recoil Per Second is 230, which is more than double that of the MP-40 yet people keep compairing the recoil despite there being a huge gap caused by the fire rate.
As for damage per second it’s calculated the same way so I hope the makers of the Enlisted recourse will add these stats.
