the russian map introducted in the last update it’s by far one of my favorite.
it’s just incredible. each time developers and map designer manage to sourprise. i tested yesterday the invasion a long side a friend, and it was incredible.
very open, wide, graphyically amazing, and above all, very well designed for gameplay.
i might argue that the bridge part it’s really harder for attackers to cross due to lack of covers.
but nontheless i was mindblowed by the map.
just fighting in the central sawmill with the light effects coming out of the windows, just an unique experience.
and the map layout can favor somewhat of a similar urban combat.
what about you folks?
what do you think about the new map.

This is, alongside Monastery Invasion, my favorite map in the game. Absolutely beautiful and very cinematic. And all that on top of many interesting but balanced gameplay options.
Everyone can find something for themselfs on that map due to different engagement distances - from sniper to flametrooper. There is also a lot of space to flank, put rally points etc.
And where it comes to cover during the river crossing - there are few possibilities: attacking behind a tank, like infantry would do irl, throwing smokes, there are also those wood pieces in the water. So like I said before, it’s very well balanced.
The forestry map is a piece of shit. Can’t see shit inside the buildings, it’s a sniper haven, the saw mill point is an absolute nightmare to get into, an then there’s the constant artillery spam(which only affects the attackers because every cap bar one is inside a building). It’s far from being balanced. If you think it’s balanced, then you haven’t been playing against good players at all.
Caps are inside building but path to them is not. You can use artillery as an area denial weapons to prevent defender reinforcements from getting into the zone.
There is an option to get in distance of few meters to it fully covered. And then multiple entry points. It’s nice to try something else than a front entrance. Clearing it might be problematic if squad full of PPDs sits in there, but geting into the building - not at all.
Loosing to a good team is no shame. I’ve played against rather bad defender teams where we blitzkrieged them from the start to the end in few minutes. I had rounds where we had to fight for every meter of the map, but won eventually. And there are also rounds where defender team manages to stop the attack on the river due to their good coordination.
It is perfectly balanced.
This map is really amazing and it’s my favourite map, too. The location is unique and when it comes to the saw mill point its feels a little bit like a big factory in Stalingrad. It is so well designed and there is so much space for tactics. Hopefully there will be more of this kind of maps!
I found out that those Soviets really like my rifle grenades. When I throw them one trough the window, it’s like throwing a candy to the kids. Lots of them come to see what that is.
I think this map is awfull, especially for germans.
A lot of indestructible objects - tanks just can’t get trought to the point.
Color of plants is close to color of soviet’s soldiers. Hard to see anything through tons of bushes.
And map is overall small. Very hard to flank while soviets have all building to shoot germans on open space.
I was happy to unlock level 2 infantry for rifle nades but damages are too low.
Direct hit is working good but that’s all.
Useless for cleaning a room.
Hope it will be fixed soon.
Airfield is one of my two most… unwelcomed maps so far (first place goes to Manor in Moscow…screw that place), but Saw mill is actually pretty good. That map is a mess, but kind of in a good way, it is hard for attackers to get to the second cap, but given how chaotic and easy first cap is for attacking team it is actually not so bad. If I can compare 2nd cap to something, it would be D-day landing beach, but kind of easier because there are no MGs (but less flanking space).
Axis definitely needs to work together as a team to get through.
yep i’m agree first cap is easy but wwith second one crossing the river is a nightmare.
And when second cap is taken you don’t have enough tikets lefts for the others points.
more flanking options are needed
A map that I lost as attackers only once because people were total monkeys.
If you have more than 500 in reinforcements you are not usually getting any more reinforcements (or at least no considerable amount, depending on the cap and overal reinforcement status). That is applied for every invasion mode.
