There is a lot of talk right now about how skins should be deployed in this game as many want it fully customizable doing whatever they want to skins…this is a horrible idea because it will make the game look cheesy…if you want it looking like Fortnite then go play Fortnite.
The problem with thes white skins, even though it is period accurate and beneficial for winter fighting, is that when you equip a skin…you never know what map you are going to wind up playing so the skins become a hinderance. There is nothing worse than equipping a winter skin to a vehicle to be put into a desert battle and wind up sticking out like a sore thumb. When people want to customize like Fortnite, they don’t realize these pink and purple guns stick out a mile away…case in point the terrible camo on the Japanese APC…and that you pay for.
What devs should do is give skins that adapt their colouring/camo to the map you get put into (ie winter is white, desert is beige, etc). This way it looks better as a whole game and guaranteed those skins would sell in the shop.
As some who plays Battlefield 5, I can agree, almost all the customization for weapons in the game look dumb. With a few exceptions
But I should add, good on the devs for adding it as a mini event that you can do while playing the pseudo Manchurian event without much effort.
I think the idea of weapon customization is completely ridiculous. These things were not common during the war at all. For rare weapons like this, I think it would be better to let us choose which campaign we want to play in. This would also solve the problem of the British in the Pacific.
So if you dont want them, use the easy to implement feature of “disable non-historical camo” and dont put the skin on yourself 
Because then developers have to start catering events to two different sides…those who like authenticity and those who don’t . That winds up dividing a player base even more. There are already a ton of games out there that do this customization thing like Apex, Fortnite,COD, Battlefield, etc…that’s why some come here to get away from all of that…making every game the same is pointless. Plus with mods and custom matches here you can probably already do that sort ofthing…so why bring it to the main playing portion?
