Me and my buddies have been in games with people twice out ranks. Every other game is a team full of Marshals. Matchmaking was not this brutal before. Is this what happens when you reach battle rank III?
Ranks mean nothing in matchmaking. Only the br of your squads matters.

Well yea br3 is a gamble before and since the soft rule can get you to br5 still yea it still quite a gamble
Please keep in mind that +1 BR is soft rule for now so depending on what time, server and cross on/off you are playing, your experience can vary.

Battle Pass Rank (ie Marshal) is not calculated and was not intended to calculate for matchmaking. Higher rank typically just means that they play more. While it may mean that you have a better chance of having equipment leveled up, or know mechanics better, it is not a good method of judging another player’s skill (also note: it resets to 0 - 50 every BP … so you have to reclimb every 3 months.
Now with the new matchmaking system BR 3 is actually a very balanced game if you get +/- 1 … so many players are playing it. As such you may see some new faces.
Enlisted does not have any SBMM that we’ve been made aware of … the Matchmaker ONLY uses the highest BR equipped by you or your party to find you a match.
I’d say I’m alright as a marshal but there are others that are straight pros or bots as in bad. It just the br that’s important
well you would be surprise at how many marshal dont build rally

The new match making just balances levels so your not competing against people with far superior weapons, but does not affect player skill. The fact that a guy is a Marshall just means he has a lot of free time on his hands, or has no life. 
I have been playing for two years and have squads set for all levels and I just around from level to level playing to keep it interesting.
Rank dosn’t recent to 0 every BP. If you were marshal last BP you start with 50 points.
