New levels for existing campaigns - do they really need to be higher than what we have now?

Hi guys, I will take Moscow as an example. And if something is unclear, try to read it multiple times, I am not an native English speaker but will try my best.

From what we could read in QnA, campaigns will target 40 levels (+/-).

If the devs add additional levels to Moscow campaign where will this lead us? Almost all the infantry guns used to that point are already in the game and I cant imagine 10 more levels of only tanks and aircraft only. If they continue to add only better stuff, it will lead to full auto and semi-auto festival.

I first would not like to see that and I think I am not the only one.Heck I would also lower the number of SMG, MG and Semi-auto per squad, but that is another matter.

What could be done instead is move some existing levels to higher number and in stead of them add stuff that is missing from the game currently.

If players have passed these levels, their progression would stop and previous levels that were added would have to be unlocked first.

Some of the tanks and vehicles:
BT5 - better armor than the BT7

Gaz - lets say only with HE ammo, or very limited AP ammo, not to butcher every tank it sees

T26E

Diferent versions of T28

35T

Sd.Kfz. 6

Stug 3 - no MG at this time but …

Pz2 Ausf F:

Aircraft:
Some other version of 109E, 3 or 4?

109F2

All other German twin engine bombers would nuke the map so no no…

Su 2 - would have to research which version was mostly produced

LaGG 3 family

Eh.

this is something that i agree with.

putting 40 more levels for a campaign it’s extreamly unpleasant.

especially for the current system.

eventually ,we might get mechanised infantry with halftracks and perhaps light vehicles / armored cars.

so, i have to go through all the tanks and weapons just to get what i wan’t?

and what does devs thinks, that i’m gonna pay 120 $ just to get that specific level?

ain’t gonna happen.

that’s why i think when you unlock newer levels, there should be more stuff with it. like, if i unlock the PZ II, i expect to get both versions instead of getting ( example ) the first pz II and than another PZ II down the line but it’s after a PZ IV…

I really hope that we will see halftracks and Stugs someday…

But with the approach that devs seem to have chosen I’m afraid that we will eventually end up with the same full auto fest like in Normandy and Berlin. With campaigns created like they are now, with rising power level instead of diversity, the only way to go is to bring even more powerful things. So one day we can end up with T-34s and maybe even KVs, countered by time-travelling German tanks (I really hope that will not happen). I have no idea what will be added for infantry…
Adding things like Pz. II or BT-5 when players already have Pz IVs and T-28s would just be pointless.

I don’t agree with you on this. Remember that lots of players are still new to the game and haven’t unlocked everything. And new players are joining every day. It will be total stupidity if in future only German tank on the battlefield is Pz4 E or whatever is on top of the food chain.

I even think that each vehicle should be one use per battle. So you would have interest in upgrading your Pz2, and not skipping everything and saving silver orders until you reach Pz4 E… But hey, that’s my opinion and I am aware that most of players only want to use what is best.

Oh sorry, my bad.

I didn’t read the part where you write about adding those new levels in the middle of current campaign, not at the end.

What I meant is: adding them after current high level tanks would be pointless.

But if they would really be somewhere in the middle, with option to get them instead of higher levels first - I agree. That would work.

Hehe yeah, I even bolded that part but it didn’t help this time

It could work, IF the new unlocks would be “fun” but not "better.

Meaning IF we would add Panzer IV F2 and T 34 to lvl 50 Moscow campaign, than we would make all the other stuff obsolete, and that would suck hard time.

IF however we would consider lvl 20ish “max tier” and “IF” everything that comes after lvl 20 would have about the same level of effectiveness, then I would say : OH yea! go for it!

Aaaand this brings us to the big problem, what else is there to have besides prototypes?
While there are vehicle options that are power wise comparable to what we have right now as max tier, but infantry guns? Hell I already feel somewhat uncomfortable using guns like the walther prototype and guns like the Czech Semi auto I totally refuse to touch, since they haven’t seen any combat what so ever.

So OP might be right, the “only” way to fit in more stuff would be to increase max lvl and put in some filler units.
But what does that mean in the end? Grinding like a madman, thats what it would mean…

Devs said they are targeting lvl 40 (+/-), not me. And yes, that is why this thread is here. If they continue adding new stuff after these campaign levels, where will it lead us, especially in infantry equipment.

Czech Semi auto should burn in hell

you know what triggers me most about that thing? that it is a lot better than the Walther, meaning that in a year from now, we will see 80% of the infantry in Moscow running around with a gun that has nothing to do with WW2. Might as well add the M14 to Normandy, since its just a M1 with a Magazine right? : O

Yeah … I have the same fear of future. War thunder nightmare in different clothes or Enlisted futurofobia…

I don’t get this part, why would second Pz II be after Pz IV?

If they squeeze more campaign levels before lets say Pz IV E, Pz II F would probably be in one of them.

i made an example

in the files, i can see different versions of PZ IIs, which doesn’t make much sense because they are going to be added at some points. and they are most likely going to be further down the line AFTER the pz iv. making those newer PZ IIs useless.

( if those are not used for other campaigns of course )

and that’s how they are doing stuff. they include them after the newer level no matter if they are good or bad

If there are files for second Pz II (that should be the F version) then the only explanation that is possible is that they had to rush it because of financial reasons, after all it is a business and someone wants to make money from it.

There is no logic to put Pz II F after any level we have now. They could only move it between some levels, and push the later levels up. War Thunder did some thing similar.

So, if I am researching lvl 25, lets say its FW190 D9, and they introduce an update that brings FW190 A4, I would have to stop researching D9, and first have to research A4.

And this is totally fine by me because I can’t imagine what will we get from infantry equipment in Moscow on higher levels than we have now. This maybe?

Even this Chech semi-auto is awful and should have rather been a Golden gun or something…

Next version pz 2 maybe will start tank at Stalingrad

You can check files,they open.

Maybe, but what will we then get in Moscow? … that is the question

New pz 3 or pz 4
In files 6 pz 3 and 5 pz 4

For Soviet union
T 34,KV 1,KV 2,SU 85

Stug maybe

I am asking about infantry stuff, tanks could somehow still work, but even that is borderline…
