Basically the idea is that you rename every fighter without a ground attack loadout (german rockets count too) to “Interceptor”. Interceptors having the unique ability to fly back to their Air spawn and despawn if they have only light damage (yellow maybe until orange damage). If they do despawn the Interceptor will be available without needing to have to cycle through 2 squads. If you don´t cycle through 2 sqauds the plane will still have the damage sustained from before and ammo count (despawn point is at a different place than the ammo spawn). If you do cycle through 2 squads it works just like normal.
Just some ramblings thinking up something to give those dedicated fighters more of a reason to be used.
I’d prefer to be able to intercept blacklisted players from becoming my teammates during solo matchmaking. Instead of intercepting airplanes.
As well as intercepting 99% of host players as my teammate.
Basically, an air superiority pilot has limited impact on the situation. The enhancements you mentioned can be implemented, but they cannot change the awkward situation of fighter planes without bombs. Except for the German army, which may need G-10 or G-14, these planes without bombs are almost useless. These pilots may be able to earn a lot of points by hunting down enemy aircrafts, But they hardly ever make the situation better.
