New gameplay mode

a new game mode(much like squads/solo)

  • Called hardcore or realistic
benefits would be that you can have both sides of the FPS player base as
-causals and arcades players that generally play games like COD, BF, fortnight, playing the standard squads mode while allowing the more
-harderline playerbase that play games like hell let loose, arma, pubg playing on a more realistic setting

  • hardcore or realistic mode would have a few changes to the base game
-troops with have a across the board reduction on movement totalling upto %30 slower movement
-troops will no longer be able to jump
-troops will only be able to vault over low fences
-maps on this game mode will be larger so there will be more room for longer ranged engagements
-vehicle crew will only be able to fix one thing on the tank at a time
-vehicles and tanks will spawn farther away from the combat zone

So, how is that realistic?

im sorry but can you vault over a 6 foot wall? and why dont you try and jump 10 times in a row while WALKING/running WHILE holding a 5-14kg weapon and see if you can keep your balance

Nobody said about jumping 10 times in a row, or bunnyhopping, or whatever.

You said about forbidding jumping at all.

Use human measures please, it’s not 18th century now.

And yes, I can.

If you want to balance this, make vaulting and jumping use more stamina. Same for swimming, because it is possible, but hard.

where have you ever seen soldiers jumping in a active combat zone? most humans can only jump one foot and on top of having an extra 15-30kg you would be hard pressed to do anythink more then a skip over a small creek

its not about balance, there should be no hoping, bunny jumping and Olympic pole vaulting, end of story

I like the idea of jumping using more stamina - the bunny hopping is annoying. Also yes, maybe you can climb more than would be realistic. I’d also add that fall damage is insufficient - who can realistically jump out of a 1st floor window and sprint away!

However. I don’t think anything that divides the player base is good idea. With players spread over 5 campaigns already, I think more needs to be done to merge players for better matchmaking/fewer bots/balanced matches.

If anything I think a new mode should be a kind of shuffle option - choose several campaigns/sides I’m open to playing (so I don’t have to play what I haven’t levelled) and just put me in the best populated match that’s about to start.

Divide the play base by opening it up to more player bases?

Yeah - if you have a hardcore mode and casual mode, you’re then splitting every campaign in two. So rather than 10 options to join (axis/allies in 5 campaigns) you’d then have 20 as you’d have to choose either hardcore or casual within each of the 10 existing options. It would reduce player numbers in every lobby.

Not splitting anythink, adding, so the milsim player based would at least play the game
And the milsim player base is the best for long term games as they hang around

Exactly, the game forcing faction based guns and gear is why I even play this game.

Unlike battlefield 5 where anyone can use anything, I don’t want that here.

Literally removing bunny hoping would not effect anyone, it would be welcomed. Only a few try hards will be salty but they can still spam automatic weapons so they’ll live with it.

most try hards leave with in a few months anyway
