New gamemode idea (invasion and conquest hybrid)


The idea is that map is split into sectors like in the invasion mode (red rectangles), but instead of one cap zone per sector, there will be multiple (3 for example but there may be even 11 if you with) points that will work like in the current conquest mode (blue circles).
Cap zones are painted more or less. They serve only demonstration purpose.

It’s almost a chained conquest. In a given time, attackers have to cap and hold majority of points in a sector untill they run out of tickets. Deffenders have to prevent capturing and don’t loose all tickets untill the time runs out.

If atackers win in a sector, the battle moves to the next sector and attackers get new tickets + the tickets left from the previous one, same for deffenders.
If attackers loose or win in the final sector, the match ends.


My main goal is to spice up the invasion a bit. We have huge maps but all 20 players rush this one 10m in diameter circle.

I like your version too, maybe even more so (balance wise).

But we definitely need 20v20 lobbys for these expansions. Which is fine by me, I’d love larger scale battles.

I remember the first time i play enlisted on console. Is that there is 2 cap points on the map ver sur mer. it could be demolition but i was capping points not detonating bombs

that is the better version of it called assault, where you have to take 2 points at most per section

This looks like Breakthrough from BF1/V/2042 where you have to capture several points to advance to the next sector.

I’ve always liked that type of gamemodes, however
a) points should be captured if held for a continuous amount of time, not in bursts (Major game design issue: objectives should be captured if held for X seconds continuously, not in parts)
b) the current (half bot) playerbase can’t even split more or less evenly between two points in destruction, so having 3-11 capture points to progress would be impossible).

It should be better than current invasion as you have to hold at least 50% of points to progress so ninja capping by one person shouldn’t be possible.

Either player base will get smarter or we will have to make this game as non-complicated as a tic tac toe.

I tried to quickly make this gamemode in the map editor, at least the 1st stage.
And I wanted to add a spawn that activates when the point is captured.
Current results: I can’t cap zones and also squad commands don’t work for some reason. So it’s going great :upside_down_face:

Like Assault but better?
