This idea is very similar to how the already existing confrontation mode is with one big difference. A single zone that moves.
The idea here is you have one central objective that can move back and forth, Both teams fight over the objective whoever dominates the objective with more troops within the objective pushes The objective toward the enemy’s territory.
At certain points 50-100m the objective is locked and must be held for at least 20 to 30 seconds by the opposite team for it to begin to move in the opposite direction again. (Optional)
The team with a heavier presence that is actively on the objective and holding it halts ticket decay for their team and causes ticket decay for the enemy team. The more soldiers for that team on the objective when it’s under their control the faster the opposite teams tickets decay to a certain amount. You can think of this mode like an infantry based train mission from Berlin without a train and is capable of going either direction.
Say 3 tickets a second for a single squad occupying the zone, 5 tickets for 3 squads, and 8 tickets for 6 squads. The game would continue until one team runs out of tickets or is completely pushed back.
To add to this at certain intervals a side objective would open letting a team regain up to 100-150 tickets for occupying a secondary objective for 30 seconds, blowing up communication relays, etc. This will allow a team to have a chance to bounce back if they’re starting to get steamrolled.
Rules:
-
Vehicles can be used in battle but cannot capture objectives
-
The Team with the heavier presence takes the objective
-
Tickets only decay when the enemy team is on the objective, if no one is present neither team loses tickets until a team occupies the objective.
-
The “Checkpoints” stop team A from pushing all the way to the end and allow B team to push back given They put up enough resistance for enough time for the objective to move the opposite direction. This works both ways.
-
Secondary objectives open for both teams at certain distances, these can be either ignored or taken on for more tickets.
-
Match continues until All of a teams tickets have been depleted, or team A pushes team B All the way back. Works both ways.
The inspiration for this idea came from For Honor, where soldiers fought over 3 objectives and the center objective was one that can move back and forth while the other two objectives were stationary.
