New construction: Tent

Hey guys, thinking about new constructions and new uses for engineers and radio operators, I came to this. It would be 2 new buildings, Enginner I would build only one, and Enginner II can choose to build one of the two, the Radio Operator will also be used, where he will call a Super Artillery, I explain a little more below:

Construction, Time and Resources needed:

  • DURABILITY: support 1 artillery (or not);
  • TENT BUILDING TIME: triple the spawn point time;
  • SMALL TENT BUILDING TIME: double the spawn point time;
  • 2 spawn point resources and 1 Ammunation Box resource will be used to build the Small Tent;
  • 3 spawn point resources (all) and 2 Ammunation Box resources will be used to build the tent;
    *Not too big (to draw attention) and not too small (not to cram everything);
    *Can be built in hills/mountains;

What will she have:

  • Spawn point (Tent and Small Tent);
  • Ammunation Box (Tent and Small Tent);
  • Ammunation Box for Tanks/Vehicles (I think it would be interesting…) (Tent);
  • Camouflage (Tent and Small Tent);
  • Sand bags around (not to be destroyed with cars/motorcycles) (Tent);
  • Sandbags with 1 MG (in front) (Tent);

What the Tent can have:

  • Location for Radio Operator to call 1 Super Artillery

How will it be:

  • Tent/Small Tent “camouflaged” according to the map;

2 types of constructions, one that is only the Small Tent (Enginner I and II) and the other the complete Tent (Enginner II)

The Small Tent (Enginner I and II):

  • Spawn Point;
  • Ammunation Box;

The Tent (Enginner II):

  • Spawn point;
  • Ammunation Box;
  • Ammunation Box for Tanks/Vehicles;
  • Central to call the Super Artillery;
  • Sand bags for protection and with 1 MG in front;

What will the Super Artillery be:

  • Artillery with more range (larger circle);
  • Artillery for longer (double the normal);

NOTE: The time to call the Super Artillery is the same as building a Spawn Point;
NOTE: To call the next Super Artillery you will have to wait twice as long as normal Artillery.

Pros:

  • it won’t just be spawn points inside the houses we already know;
  • 2 new constructions;
  • 5 in 1 (spawn point, ammunation box, vehicles ammunation, super artillery and MG)
  • new function for Enginner (build tent/small tent);
  • new function for Radio Operator (call Super Artillery);
  • new artillery: Super Artillery (Artillery with longer time and longer range)

eh… this suggestion it’s a bit biased for enginners more than they somewhat already are.

not to mention the menu would be much more clustered than it already is.

although i somewhat like the idea behind.

would work best with bunkers ( wooden bunkers, and concrete bunkers ) which the cost might depend and to take them down, you’ll need at least 2 explosives or something.

( just a few ideas )

I think the MG nest is enough, this would be way more OP when there is no tier II engineer on the other side and you can see that when one side doesn’t have or use engineer they are almost guaranteed to lose the match.

i do like the idea of giving the engineer some more static build-able construction’s, the tent on its own without the extra’s actually is a pretty good idea, it would also be cool if you could build taller sandbags with small peep holes that people can shoot through

  • Tent - Resource cost = 10
  • Large Sandbag Wall - Resource Cost = 3

also it might be interesting if when you build a spawn beacon inside of a tent it reduces the spawn timer by 25% or something like that

I’m in agreement with these. While being able to build more cool stuff would be nice, games don’t last long enough to be spent building a fort, and engineers are already not rewarded enough for the impact a well-placed rally point can have on a battle, they make or break games.

engineer’s are rewarded quite well in the game… you get points for when other people kill enemies while standing behind your sandbags, when they grab ammo, when they spawn, when they kill things with your built guns… iv managed to get 1st place before with 0 kills running an engineer squad just because i did all the side tasks and was constantly building stuff like sandbags so my team had something to hide behind when rushing

I agree with small tent and that is it, big tent is too exposed and the map is too small

I have one in each squad and I don’t think so. Even if 10-20 people use my spawn it is worth a couple of kills, I place ammo at the front line but it seems that people mostly die sooner than they need ammo because it rarely gets used. Sandbags give even less and as I mostly defend they don’t last very long under constant barrage of explosives of all sorts.

my ammo crates get used quite a bit, i tend to place them around places a sniper might camp out since their the soldier that usually stays alive long enough to run out of ammo

sandbags give a decent amount if your ballsy enough to place them in positions where your really likely to get lit up like for example in normandy i place sandbags all over the beachfront inbetween the MG’s, il usually lose a few engineer’s doing so but it allows my team to rush with a higher chance of success

and spawn beacons get used more the more useful the position is.
