The commander will be a class that will remain mostly in the rear. (I’ve been thinking that it could be usable only in a building, which would be set as the headquarters) The commander will be a class that will remain mostly in the rear. You will be able to control entire squads of AI, managing them from a map that will only be available at your headquarters, which will be located at the second point to defend if you have to play as a defender, or at the Reespawm point if you have to play as an attacker.
Once the point is captured, the commander will have to move to his new headquarters. In case of being a defender, he will have to retreat to the next point in the rear, and in case of being an attacker, he will occupy the already abandoned headquarters of the enemy.
How will the deployment of this AI work? Will it be the same as the bots that are used to fill player quotas? No.
This AI will work in part as in an RTS game. The commander will have the option to deploy the squadrons in: trenches, bunkers, machine gun posts, houses, etc. Each of these squads has to have a logical default position, that is: if the bots are in a house, they have to cover doors and windows. A soldier watches while the squadron engineer places a machine gun in one of the windows if ordered to do so by the commander.
In the case of trenches, the commander will only have the option to deploy the AI in a row, to cover most of the trench. And likewise, the squadron engineer will have the option of placing a machine gun if the commander so wishes.
How do these squads get into battle? In Vehicles!
These squadrons will have a small mobility advantage when arriving in armored vehicles. Like the mythical Sd.Kfz 251/1 Ausf. D German.
In many Enlisted maps there are several maps that have more than 2 or 3 paths. I suggest that these roads be used to deploy the commander’s squadrons. Obviously the vehicles will deploy their troops at a certain distance from their target, so as not to be such an easy target for the enemy. However, in case one of these vehicles is destroyed, the next to arrive will park at an even more prudent distance, or simply dodge it to continue on its way.
