hello could you add new campaigns?
for example the battle of Cassino or that of Okinawa. Adding the battle of Okinawa you would also add the Japanese. In my opinion it’s a good idea then you see (I’m Italian and I used google translator sorry for the mistakes and ignorance)
I wouldn’t mind a new campaign but I would rather have these current 4 polished up first
I would rather a French vs Germany campaign, or a Spanish civil war campaign
first you have to polish the other campaigns, give a certain amount of maps per campaign, introduce smoke artillery for all campaigns as well as the destruction mode. And after all that, we can just think of a new campaign, but personally I would like it to be the battle of iwo jima
Both of them are really good ideas, the pacific front already has been confirmed and I would love a campaign set in Italy.
But they first absolutely need to rework progression system and squads
Yep, really interesting campaigns might be. Also, Poland vs USSR and Germany (1939) campaign.
I’m not 100% certain they will add new campaigns… they leaked they MIGHT work on a Japanese/usa one, but it’s a big “might”. The game needs to sell well for them to keep adding new campaigns, and especially need a bigger player pool.
I hope they will complete the 4 campaigns we already have first before anything, as they still each have alot of issues and adding/removing stuff all around 4 campaigns or more without clear thinking won’t work well in the long run
No
Won’t be any different to Tunisia (Bar maps)
I’d rather is be a generic “Pacific” campaign, as there are so many nations that were involved (Certainly early in the war)
No. Not now. All four campaigns require endless further work, fixing full pockets of problems. So, first of all, resources should be allocated to address existing problems.
You guys do realize that this campaign will be another Germany vs USA and UK right?
more campaigns means more testing, each of campaign we have now seems to be running some sort of test, if we add another test (if its even required) it would mean that campaigns could be polished more accurately
NEW CAMPAIGN SUGGESTIONS.
I am businessman from my profession and I have MBA, I try to represent these ideas from a business perspective for the game developers. These suggestions represent very neglected markets where this game would have no competition what so ever in the world of FSP gaming and they are very easy to create with majority of the hardware and work already done.
Most of these new suggestions that I am going to present here would bring huge amount of new players a.k.a CASH FLOW for the game. These campaigns are rare, however very easy to create with many of the weapons/ soldier outlooks and maps that are there already. (Minor changes and new campaign could be added?)
1.st suggestion: Winter War/ Continues War Finland/ Germany VS. Soviet Union.
Easy to create with the nature almost the same as in the Moscow campaign, some of the weapons are there already too. As an independent campaign this would bring huge interest and more players from Scandinavia, most likely it would get into news and media across the northern hemisphere.
There is literally NO OTHER WWII FSP made out of Winter War/ Continues War, only some BF mods from million years ago, therefore there is a market without any competition anywhere? High income market.
Very internationally known and famous conflict that is completely forgotten in the FSP world.
- Yugoslavian Partisans vs. Germans/ Italians in the Balkans.
Very neglected part of the WWII history and also, all the weapons and majority of the software is already there to create this marvel. Especially the Eastern European servers would flood with new players from the Balkans, people there love all these games.
- Poland VS. Germany
Very important part of the WWII and the polish seem to be very active in these games overall, Poland has a population of 38 million consumers at the moment and very nationalistic policies. Also, as we can see from the game Witcher, gaming culture in that beautiful country is very strong.
Very considerable market overall.
- France vs. Germans.
This would be quite easy, rip off majority of the maps nature from Normandy campaign, some weapons from there too, add few french tanks and couple of planes and you are ready to roll.
What I would advice against is to start creating an Asia Pacific campaing with the US/ UK vs. Japan.
It is just so… Done? Everyone and every FSP has that campaing and also it takes a lot more working hours to build the very same campaing that everyone else is competing for as well? All the nature, weapons, uniforms anbsolutely everything has to be done from a scratch. After all that hard work this game would still be competing with every single other WWII FSP out there?
I can name about 20+ games that have the same campaign and if this game wants to grow it has to grow with campaigns that are neglected in order to avoid being “Just another WWII FSP…”
Of course Asia Pacific theater could be added later, however starting with those campaigns first before entering that pit would make much more sense financially and market wise? There is a lot less work for bigger and easier gains to have if pursuing the campaigns that i suggest here.
Many players would start to play this game if it would bring many of the FORGOTTEN fronts of the WWII into play, by being different and a lot more exotic this game could achieve a lot larger player amounts.
Thank you,
Sincerely,
Hasse
Hardcore gamer from Finland.
Winter war is too similar to the Moscow campaign, nobody would play the germans for the fifth time, sure there would be some new weapons for the finnish but not enough to entice players to play that campaign.
Yugoslav partisans would use the same weaponry as the enemy, not interesting. Even though I live in a state from former Yugoslavia there is sadly no place for them in game.
What do the polish have to counter the german weapons and tanks, cavalry?
France vs Germany would be good to see, I expect to see it in the future.
Dear Croatian friend,
With Winter War campaign there were no Germans involved yet at all, Finns had completely different weaponry and this would make it very interesting. Some of these weapons are already presented in the Moscow campaign.
With Winter War as its own campaign it would be exotic and different from any other FPS in the market.
You are right in the sense that Continues War campaign probably should be left alone due to the fact that it would resemble too much of the Moscow campaign.
There is yet another war that has been forgotten from the 2:nd world war.
LAPLAND WAR.
That war was fought by the Finns vs. Germans.
Finns with their completely different weaponry would make it very interesting, maps would be made from the northern parts of the Finland and that terrain starts to be arctic. So there is some difference there and some city fighting also.
To your Polish question:
At least Forgotten Hope mod. For BF made it work quite nicely with using Polish armor prototypes from the time period. Also, Germans were very lightly armored during that campaign therefore the difference between these two nations was not that great.
Polish Armor 1918-1945 (tanks-encyclopedia.com)
Most likely campaign out of these initial suggestions would be France VS. Germans, however I would really love to see the Winter War campaign as well.
It would work.
Sorry that simply isnt true. The Finns used many captured/slightly modified Russian weapons. They did have a unique light machine gun and a unique SMG but they also used DP27s, modified mosin nagants, PPDs, AVS36s and others Im sure im missing. Even tanks were Russians. I would love the campaign but it would feel VERY copy and paste
russian (finnish skin) vs russian
There is still quite a huge list of different weaponry that Finns had during the winter war.
Even Japan donated some Arisakas if I remember right, I found this list that covers it nicely and checked it out in order to make sure that its accurate. This list hopefully makes the decision making on the Winter War Campaign easier.
