Hi, today I would like to suggest a new campaign : Landing operation on Mariana (1944)
Early in the Pacific War, Japanese Navy invaded the islands of the Southeast Pacific with a plan to block the sea routes between the United States and Australia. Mariana Islands, Japan’s mandate, were the bridgeheads. In the latter half of the Pacific War, a counterattack by the United States began and an operation to recapture Philippines was planned. Occupation of the Mariana Islands was planned to prevent the side from being targeted during this offensive.
By August 1944, all manned islands except Rota, which had low strategic value, had been occupied and most Japanese soldiers had died except for thousands of prisoners of war.
Taken in Guam,1944. Navy soldiers were armed with old or captured weapon provided by the Army.

Landing on Saipan began earlier than the other two islands. Japanese seniors were confident in the fortification of the island, but it wasn’t really enough and fell in less than a month.
Many artillery were installed around the coast. It might be enjoyable if you could manipulate them in the game.

The Japanese army took advantage of the shape of the island to defend it vertically and resisted, but failed by repeatedly trying to destroy the bridgehead by night attack. It is believed that this hastened the fall.
More soldiers surrendered and were taken prisoner than on other islands, but still only 1300.
Tinian was the largest airfield in the region where Strategic bomber could take off and land. On July 24, the Marines landed with bombardment support from the battleship Colorado, and by August 3, the Japanese systematic resistance had ended. Tinian has a very flat terrain compared to Saipan and was suitable for airport construction but not for combat.

After the occupation, the airfield was redeveloped and became an operational base for the B-29. Nuclear attacks to Japan in August 1945 were also carried out from this island.

AT Weapons
Since this is a captured weapon, it is necessary to consider whether to introduce it.
Pistol
A soldier of the 43rd Infantry Regiment 3rd Battalion, destroyed in Guam, owned this pistol.

Tanks
Amphibious vehicles were active in both sides in these battles, so it might be nice to be able to sail on the water like WarThunder.

In fact, the Japanese base aviation unit has been damaged in the battle since February 1944 and is not fighting very actively.
