New bot difficulty setting request

I would like to see an option added that could increase the teams bot IQ, reaction time etc.

Options:

  • Normal (Current)
  • Expert

if teams on both sides have have it set to expert (at begining of the match) or an overall majority 80%~ then they would be in that mode.

I’d also like it to be considered for people that have a bot team to have their side upgraded to expert so that the match is more challenging for both sides and that 1-2 people arent having to attempt to carry a team of bots while getting farmed.

the bots dont need to be sweatlords but a complete step up from what they currently are would be good.

i don’t deny that having bots with better gear could make things interesting.

so, as showns and can be experienced,
in order to make bots remotely interesting ( imo ), both their squad composition and gear should be adjusted.

mainly expanding the number of bots to 12, and give them gear br III+

but on the other hand,
as it can be somewhat experienced even now with these lacklaster bots,
players will get access through br III+ weapons in br II / I games. ( granted, not often, and you have to be lucky to be alive when the bots dies )
but this would let players use
fed mgs, stgs, svts, 30 cals, etc etc ) which it’s not great for the pvp side.

and, another major factor is,
how would you balance bots.
to be both effective, but not to exagerate.

in my opinion, historical loadouts would solve partially the issue.

but i’m not sure developers would go to the extend of modifying the bots presets ( which originally, they did planned )

but, it all comes down to:

this game is primarily pvp.
and as much i’m the biggest proponent for pve content, it is not clear if enlisted will ever have pves.
i can remotely show and prove that pves titles can be popular ( just to name few, helldiver, risk of rain, space marine 2, yada yada yada ), the influx of gamers, and how the skin department as well as other goodies related for that mod can bring substantial income as well.

but ultimately it boils down to the developers themselves and/or higher ups.

and last thing,

bots in enlisted are rare.
you think you have bots in your team, but no, most are just very inexperienced or new players.

so, ideally you would make bots better and stronger.
but it wont serve much because you wouldn’t meet them very often.

and if you do ( which ideally, bots would replace those quitters, their effect won’t be able to make up for the players themselves ) they will not aid anyone in preventing the inevitable.

yes im aware of team mates being worse than bots so we think the team is bots. The request to have symbols next to their names like how consoles have has been long also requested.

currently the bots in br 1 & 2 games can get equipped with br 3 gear (ie flamethrowers, mgs etc).

bot intelligence has been a lot better over early years (in some areas) and was “nerfed” small tweaks here and there have been made to improve them again, but they are still not at the level they were.

Of people reported (at one stage) 60%~ of them were bots. which makes me wonder just how bad the player base is.

it seems that bot reaction time is 400-500ms of which i think could be tweaked lower (200-250ms) this would stop squads been wiped (ya know when someone shoots you and your bots are just standing there staring doing nothing, then every bot you switch into gets shots with you having no time to react)

if they cant be tweaked and improved to be better then at least give them br 4-5 loads outs when the player is br 5, nothing worse than seeing the default base gun being shot, this way if a new player had 1 event item that uptiered them to br 3-5 that they could at least pick up a better gun off the ground

I don’t need a sifisticated bot, just one that can actually sprint when I sprint and is smart enough stay where you tell them to stay and NOT stand outside in the open desperately trying to be someone’s cannon fodder. I would like a bot that has the instincts NOT to stand, run or crawl in front of me when I am shooting, or run around like a crack addict going through withdraws. I’m a simple man, just give me a simple bot, not a walking vegetable. :wink:

I always think a bot should be tough, otherwise he will be not a variable in the game, only a second body to take when you die.

what i want, and probably will not get, is a bot that makes a chalege, something that real gives some pressuer when you fight up, not a terminator, but a competet soldier.

the easy way to do so is obvius increase they acuracy, so make they strong. a dificult seletion will do nice. so Yes.

bots have esp and know when a gun is aimed at them, then they must go thru their logic, which the response usually is to fire, upon being fired back on they will then try to get a lock on that target so if that target takes off running the bot usually decides it needs to give chase to get a shot in.

Telling them to stay still can work well, however they are still usually facing the wrong way when the enemy comes for me then them.

yes this is more what im after, i dont want the bots to carry the team i want them to put in a fair share of the load, then for enemy side at least put up a fight i dont need laser firing target locked terminators just a bit more of a challenge with better guns and better reaction times

History is a ciencie that exists because of it, it repeats itself.

still, there is a diference in this sujestion, it allow the player chooce if BOTs will be strong or not.

ummm interesting.

Majority must have the option checked/defaults to higher if bot team.

this makes it so that a 4 stack cant sway the descision, with higher stack numbers possible it still then relies on the other team to also have the option checked.

don,t know if this will works properly, a Second bot dificult is more interesting that it seens, because in this Hardcore bot dificult can have some features such trow grenades and crew stationary weapows was well. so just two dificultys casual/Hardcore is good enough.

I would like to see this in custom games first to tune it. Especially with how we’ve seen the bot go back and forth between Terminators and Mary Poppins. A custom game bot difficulty slider however could be interesting.

actually this is a good idea, having the clans test it they would most likely be the best for feedback on it since they know what to expect from bots and how they act
