Your argument makes no sense because people have always used the best equipment and only used the lower gear as stepping stones. What do you think is already happening to BR 4?? Or BR 1.
Who uses the MP38 over the MP40? or any SMG lower than the MP40 for that matter.
Who uses the Mkb over the StG?
The Johnson over the M2 carbine?
At least with my proposal, BR 4 will actually become used. BR 4 gear is basically either the same or slightly better than BR 3 gear.
If you can’t see balance in this system (with a few minor tweaks) then you’re blind.
Yea and now I spend my time playing Wolfenstein to unlock those perk as fast as I can so I can go all out (it pretty fun NGL seeing the alternate German gun and lore)
That’s how upgrading equipment works when you face the same opponents regardless, aka current BR4-BR5 and pre-merge Enlisted.
But, with a proper BR matchmaking system, upgrading to a better rifle should always put you against stronger opponents than previously, so there is still a point in using the old gear. Would you still use the G43 when the G41 didn’t see M2 Carbines??? Even if the G43 faced BR2 sometimes the G41 would still have a place, because it wouldn’t ever see/fight BR’5’, aka BR6.
IF that was the case BR2 wouldn’t be popular. Not everybody is gunning it for the top tier spam. Most players want to play something they like, something that puts them in a comfortable spot to perform, and that is not defaulting to top tier.
That’s the result of the half-assed implementation of the BR matchmaking system we have. We don’t even have 5 BR’s! In the matchmaker’s eyes, we have 3! That’s the situation i want to get rid off!!!
Ofcourse when you have a weapon that is clearly (+significantly) better than another, but they have the same ‘BR’, people will flock over to use them.
In your proposal, BR4 will become king of BR3, and swallow it whole!
In my proposal, BR4 will get it’s opportunity to shine, but BR3 will still be good and useful, since it will not be fighting BR6 like BR4 would.
And BR4 has some rifles, MG’s smg’s and tanks that can absolutely wreck house, and are significantly better than their BR3 counterparts, so balance goes down the drain,…

So, in your mind, in order for a BR to nor suck, is should only face itself??? we would then have a toxic spam meta by default. Plus, facing the same things endlessly isn’t fun.
You have a problem with the whole premise of a uptier/downtier system. No, a BR/weapon doesn’t suck if it sometimes has to face stuff stronger than it! Especially when it can face stuff weaker than it too! That’s how this works. You don’t have to have the same things as everybody else in the match to be good! And that would get stale pretty quick!

IF they just slapped BR6 onto the current system with no changes to their half-assed BR matchmaker (so BR6 would still face BR3), nothing would change, you would at worst have a mix of ‘BR5’ and ‘BR6’ squads in your preset, with no effect on gameplay.
If we ever get a proper BR±2 system alongside BR6, then BR6 would never face BR3, and that would have a big effect in game balance and gameplay.
it could be could if you made some kind of sale/discount when removing weapons from the battle pass or at least remove only 1 per faction. I can’t panic buy 8 weapons because of FOMO.
Eh I don’t buy weapon that I don’t like or use tbh but I did max out the artillery luger since it more useful than S&W light rifle (can’t bring myself to buy it since it basically M1 carbine but 20 round)
…but already is anyway. if there is a BR 5 in your game, you know what weapons and vehicles he is going to spam, just like if there’s a BR 3 in your game. you know what he will be using.

I think all the mgs are not that good sadly, except the hotchkiss. It is unique and greatly animated, and the firing sound is satisfying (at least for me).
Also it it nostalgic, as it is the same machinegun from battlefield 1 which i connect good memories with. I think of getting 3 of it, so i can equip a full machinegunner squad (despite not playing the japanese at all)
I can’t tell because I’m not familiar with the Lahti.
Anyway, I think either the reload times of the new BP MGs are bugged, or their stat cards are wrong. I also bought a Knorr, and both guns reload lightning fast.
