Windows are incredibly broken irl as they have anti ballistic propeties that help soldiers survive 7.92 caliber shots to the chest and sometimes even shots to the head, as we all know, as Stalin himself ordered every man to have glass panes underneath their clothes to survive Blitzkrieg, but this is a game and this should be rebalanced.
On a serious note, why is shooting through a glass pane with a Kar98/Mosin treated in the same way as shooting through wood obstacles in the game? It gets annoying when you shoot them at the heart and you get the white hitscan for the 100th time. And by the way, could it be possible that they all open in the same direction? I know thats kinda dumb to suggest but when assaulting buildings, and opening windows to climb inside, if they do so by opening to the oustide, you can get stuck while climbing through. If all opened in the same direction i wouldnt see much issue, but when youre rushing to get out of an open field an storm a building, youre not really thinking “does this particular window open outwards or inwards?” and then realizing you made a mistake by not shooting that sumbitch when you get stuck in the window itself and shot at by some lucky soldier.
Lastly, it takes two stock hits to break a window. Why?

Agree on the two stock hits thing. Unreasonable. But I don’t see the glass shielding as a problem. Sure it sucks when you’re aiming at someone, get a perfect shot and just hear the glass shattering noise with no kill. But this just means you have to be clever with your shots and with your surroundings. You can shoot once randomly to shatter the glass, hide and then aim a good shot. And from the other perspective, when you hear a window shatter next to you, it gives you time to react. I think its a nice little mechanic.
The window opening depends on what kind of window you are opening as some can go both ways and some go only one way. It’s a real life thing for windows and I don’t think it hurts anybody. The annoying thing is to get stuck because of it, but the problem there is the inconsistent vaulting and not the window itself I think.

Yes, but i dont see them revamping the entire movement anytime sooner than they could just make all windows open to the same side. I think. I hope.

It would be if this game was also not trying to have its share of milsim. If a player manages to sneak around and get to an advantageous position in which there is a clear shot to an enemy squad, and the window is not one that you can open, as soon as you fire the bots go through their aimbot phase and you will most likely die because a good player will notice the bots before the window, probably.
Yeah the aimboting is pain in the ass. This is why I like to melee windows the first thing I do when getting to a sniping spot. To be fair irl you’d probably have to face an unopenable window at some point as well. I may be wrong but I think if you melee the window it doesn’t alert the aimbots but not sure. Overall I get the problem with it, but I think it forces the player to experiment a bit more and often makes it fun for me to figure out how to actually get through the glass the most effective way.
One hit to break the window, the other to clear the shards and pieces of wood away.
