i don’t know if it is just flamethrower the Russan fire mortar, or Molotov’s, fuel bombs or all of the above weapons. but fire has become the best anti-tank weapon. it can force crews from tanks, obscure views or even blow a tank up. this is too much power maybe kill the tanks engine by overheating it or starving it of air. but tanks were rarely destroyed unless the fire somehow got inside the tank like through an open hatch. simply put this overpowered fire is just going to force more people into or back into the gray zone.
I love using fire to counter tanks, its really satisfying so smoke out a tank crew.

and i would be fine with that, but staying in the tank should not cause it to explode
People shouldn’t catch on fire in the tank, not for a while, but staying inside a tank that’s on fire is inadviseable at best. Forcing crew to leave or face the concequences of staying (choking on smoke) is realistic.
Obscuring vision is 100% realistic, the flames and smoke outside, and the smoke making its way inside will hamper the crews visual capabilities. This should not be altered.
The fact that tanks are destroyed upon their crew being killed is a fault of the gameplay, if you specificly want tanks to remain even if the crew is dead that’s another thing but it’s a pretty minor thing all things considered.
The fact that people keep kill-stealing the vehicles I set on fire also does not incline me towards them being “OP”, I’d still rather use a AT weapon or TNT bundles 10/10 times. It’s a mobility and visual kill, something still has to finish you off, either time or another countermeasure, but it’s rarely going to be the fire itself.
There were and still a lot of tanks that get destroyed via engine fires. I do agree its a little iffy that the tank just instantly blows up when the crews dead, but from a gameplay perspective I get it.
Fire is in a perfect place atm Id argue.
i disagree, with explosives you have to time it too long and you blow up to early and the tank can move out of the way or shake of the grenade. the tnt you have to manually detonate it with fire its like an impact at grenade. i know its impact with rocket and rifle but those at least require some skill and must hit a 'vital area".
And the fire will slowly burn you out unless you do something about it.
I say we should implement reasons for people to escort tanks, rather than nerf fire on tanks.
Removing ability to extinguish inside of a tank from the interior was a mistake. There should be separate interior and exterior fires. And exterior fire (engine) should actually damage your crew not by fire but by smoke, 2hp per sec till you bail out or just die, give it also some perk penalty and new screen effect so it would be annoying enough to leave tank asap.
And then I remember …
In total, about 5,142,800 BK 2H grenades were produced. Until March 1945, about 1,115,600 units were delivered to the front, and almost all of them were used up by the end of the war.
I mean what I do when that happens is just back up since you have time to react once you hear a molotov breaking on your engine deck.
As long as you can get back up just enough to offer yourself the bare minimum cover, ideally where there are friendlies nearby, you can just hop out with the commander only and get the fire sorted.
Not to mention you can cook explosive packs to act like true impact AT nades, those ones are narly.
Of all the things to die to in Enlisted tanks. Fire would have to be the least frequent…or maybe slightly above AT rifles.
IMO doesnt need any attention at this time.
Tank fires would mostly occur once your hull gets penetrated by a shell, just a single molotov wouldn’t reach them only smoke could.
I feel like molotovs don’t get enough love in this game. I like the way they work currently. I’ve occasionally been saved from dying to a tank, or helping the team not getting shelled after throwing a molotov on a tank’s gun sight, blinding them temporarily. And for open top vehicles, that’s just diabolical and fun watching them catch fire and explode.
No engine fires were quite common to break out into the fighting compartment. Especially on certain models of tanks. I mean not to mention the smoke and the heat that such a fire would kick out.
Not as fast though as in game, and how ingame it works on a radius so certain tanks, especially those with the commander seated top middle behind the gun, will have the commander set on fire near instantly but the driver might be fine for up till a minute later.
Personally I’d prefer ppl to use Molotov’s instead of explosion packs. Makes more sense and looks cooler.
