Both hands like in game, there’s no good way to run with a rifle one-handed, even an M16 with its dumbass “carrying handle” that you’re taught never to use like a handle.
Also odd thing to note is that M16s are more comfortable than M4s to generally walk or run with- being longer gives them better balance and you can tolerate the weight more.
the ones magic’d onto their backpacks?
If it’s somehow tight enough not to move (not possible), it’s tight enough that you can’t get it off of your back.
If you’re walking with one slung on your back, you stop it from moving too much by holding the strap tight, but that still occupies a hand and it more cumbersome for moving quickly than keeping it in both hands.
I have no idea what backpacks have to do with this conversation, or what 20kg weapon you’re talking about. I’m happy to accept game mechanics that allow me to spend more time having fun gunfighting in Enlisted. I’m fine with soldiers carrying machine guns and near instantly changing weapons or throwing grenades. Even though its unrealistic to see soldiers with machine guns magic’d onto their backs, I don’t think it would be fun or worth the devs time to animate soldiers carrying these weapons across their shoulders as you see them on the main menu. Slings weren’t anywhere near as advanced or comfortable in WWII as they are today and still, no one carries a 10kg+ crew serve machine gun by a strap/sling. I accept the magic’d, stick to back sling mechanic because I want to have fun firefights with those weapons while still being able to maneuver, throw grenades, vault, etc. The concept of running faster with a knife out simply does not make sense and is not fun. Who came to play melee in Enlisted?
I find everything except super knife speed acceptable. I don’t care if they make soldiers slower/faster or have more/less stamina. I don’t know why you’re using an indefinite pronoun if you feel like I’ve insulted you. Considering your posts about backpacks and 10kg dumbbells while you quote me out of context, it seemed legitimate to question your reading comprehension. If I’ve offended you, then I’m sorry as that was not my intention. I rather enjoy the game and have posted my singular point of feedback with supporting reasoning.
How else would you execute a mechanic that trades X (anything) for mobility?
Like sure stamina is a thing but it isn’t exactly an unique mechanic and you aren’t exactly punished for using it.
All I can say about the matter is that the stamina change was a bad design decision (among many), being reverted would be enough considering that movement already received a hit back in one of the updates (I can say was good/needed). That hit was there to address something but the thing is what is this aim to address ?, such design before making it to live should’ve been taken considering the already change to movement.
Well I mean it was successful experiment & now based on the results they have to tinker with it again & experiment. I think another change built around something to solve like they wanted to deal with wiving & strafing. In that sense it is successful.
For the NDA, in a video or publicizing it yes but here I see it a must since this a continuous development.
