Not going to lie, this “pirate flag” is almost same level of artistic weirdness we have in game in terms of censorship.
Not seeing any symbols at all is much better than placing them everywhere while rubbing the salt in self-made injury by censoring them in order to make it shout at everyone “yo, look how much politicaly correct we are, nothing actually happened in history, it was just some sort of red teutonic order with tanks you see there!”
Yeah, but since people are retards, if the S-cross was in game, the very next day we’d be seeing online game screenshots / footage of people exploiting some glitchy way to salute that flag, which would invariably bring the mediatic shitstorm about the game endorsing that ideology.
Give a game community a political symbol, and with 100% chance someone will find a way to abuse it.
What I´m saying is, that in order to somewhat satisfy both sides, we shouldn´t have these things at all. For example, how much better Berlin would look like without those… whatever those things are… flags that are there only to break immersion or to generate mockery.
