Censoring even the Iron cross is wild.

Also leave the Confederacy out of this.
The CIS is fighting for their rights and self governance so the corrupt republic can’t take away their taxes to the core systems.

Just like the swastika it’s become not just toxic but radioactive

Perhaps but the Devs already use it for as a stand in for the swastika so I think that summarises they view upon the iron cross.

Literally older than Nazism, Germany (as a country) and even Nationalism (born in late 18th/early 19th century actually).
modern Iron Cross was born in 1813 but its roots date back to medieval Christian knights.

I understand what your saying and I agree but to play devil’s advocate the swastika is about 12,000 years old and still in most of the world has a heavy association with the Nazis.

“Coca-Cola used it. Carlsberg used it on their beer bottles. The Boy Scouts adopted it and the Girls’ Club of America called their magazine Swastika. They would even send out swastika badges to their young readers as a prize for selling copies of the magazine,” he says.

It was used by American military units during World War One and it could be seen on RAF planes as late as 1939. Most of these benign uses came to a halt in the 1930s as the Nazis rose to power in Germany.

if enlisted allows the iron cross it does because it is almost impossible try find a german ww2 flag without a swast or iron cross

Agreed, regardless of thoughts on the symbol now this is a WWII game. If they cant use the swastika or Iron Cross, what can they use? We cant give Germany the contemporary German flag.

The only option I could think of would be the Weimar flag with black, white and red (such as on certain early aircraft in the German aircraft tree in War Thunder).

As for the original post yeah I like this idea!

I’m surprised we havent had an Iwo Jima map yet.

It would be very fun to have the last objective be a flag pole and the Stars & Stripes or Rising Sun goes up the flagpole depending on who wins.

Likewise Berlin maps the USSR or German flag (not sure if the building that flag was on is in game though).

Would be even better to have more national flags like the Union Jack, WWII era Italian flag, Australian flag etc. (Canada used the Union Jack)

The Iron Cross, Balkenkreuz, and any form of a Black bird are not forms of Nazism, these have existed throughout most of Germanys history, the black bird going back to the Holy Roman Empire, Balkenkreuz was introduced at the end of WW1, and the Iron cross, I only know it goes back to the Prussian era.
This is a flag my friend made for a WW2 reenactment Groups German faction, and every symbol used on it, has been used before or during WW1. We say it’s a WW1 Flag to avoid controversy, because the game we play is not very kind to WW2 stuff.
