Narrator-voice often doesn't make sense to be typical american guy

Adding 2 more voices, one russian, one german just to tell you what happens would greatly increase immersion. Hearing general Patton shouting that enemy is capturing point in berlin or in moscow is just hilarious and is a big shortcoming for such a game

When playing as Germans in Normandy:

ā€œHurry up soldier, the Americans are beating us…er I mean, beeil dich Soldat!ā€

Come on, CoD World at War did this extremely well. Memory of voice of that russian hero guy encourageing you to die for motherland still wakes me up in the middle of the night. Same with desprate german SS officer that makes you understand how bad the situation is. Nothing bad in making it a bit stereotipical

So what do you want? You want them to speak broken English with heavy accent? What about voice lines localized for different languages? How do you imagine American narrator is going to sound in Russian localization (for example)?

I don’t think it’s a good solution. In my opinion they should either a) make the narrator detached from the battle, as in they shouldn’t add any national / factional ā€œflavorā€ to the way he speaks, or b) allow the player to switch to the nation-specific narrator that only speaks the language of that faction.

I agree, English voices for Germany and Soviets is immersive breaking.

We’ve taken all the control points

We’ve lost the battle

Enemy captured point A…

The voices are pretty low down the list of priorities. It was the same in World of Tanks and War Thunder, once they handled more pressing matters they worked on the voices.

I checked it, they have different voices in other languages. I’m not saying they should make every faction in every language have different actors. The easy way is to make their german and russian voice-actors read lines only in the most used language setting - english, maybe also russian but thats a harder language to even read one sentence.
If its too much to ask from the devs, which is understadable, I’m Ok with toggable option to have narrator speak in native language for each factions. They already have the sound files, and the german guy sounds epic. I need to check out russian now. Its not that hard to understand ā€˜enemy is capturing point A’ in those languages. That way it can be optional, and I’m sure many players here would prefer that, than this painfully american dude - who is great btw, stereotipical and all but only for americans in Normandy

you don’t need patton’s voice to tell you that point A has been conquered a nice notification comes out on the screen and on the map so the native audio is perfect to add
