After seeing modern warfare special event which many players found quite fun and refreshing, i have another idea. Bring Napoleonic wars to Moscow campaign!
18th century, engineers can build cannons, cavaelry, swords (already in game ,btw), authentic uniforms and musketeers!
sounds fun
There is always bayonet or sword attack option
Not sure how much would people like shooting once and then having to work 1 minute to reload.
How long did it take to load a gun in 1776? - Quora. 15 seconds or more . British army drill expected men to load and fire a Brown Bess musket three times in one minute, and well drilled soldiers could fire four times a minute. Rifles took longer to load.
Also those 15s of reloading isn’t just about waiting. It’s about trying to hold your shit while you are defenceless and the enemy fires at you.
M&B Napoleonic Wars was quite emotional game for such a non-dynamic gameplay.
Would need to fix the melee first. Melee combat without directional attacks and blocks is just boring.
There is one major difference between the feasibility of this event and how the Modern Conflict event was done.
Modern Conflict used recycled models, the tanks were from War Thunder and the weapons from CRSED: F.O.A.D…
Whereas this Napoleonic would require the creation of musket models (and having to model their characteristics) and cannons, not to mention uniforms none of which is too hard, just takes time. But the large issue would be horses, which to do right are a lot of work.
Also while yes we do have swords in game, none of them are from Napoleonic times.
Agree that for a temporary one time event it could be a lot of work.
