Nagant revolver a.k.a the worst gun in the game

We all know this gun and we all hate it. It deals only 5.0 dmg which is bad even for a pistol, has abysmal rate of fire and reload time is absolutely painful

I would love to see this gun improved in the game. It has been a meme and a joke for 2 years now but I think this gun needs a change

First, improve the rate of fire. It should be faster.

Second, firing and repeating shouldn’t stop the player from aiming down sights. Nagant is a revolver not a bolt action rifle

Third, reload rate should be faster. Add a new animation where the gun would be loaded more tactically and increase the reload rate

Forth, being a revolver with a slow but hard punching bullet should make the nagant strong at close range, about 7dmg per bullet is enough. I think all revolvers in enlisted should deal around this much dmg because right now they are all bad

Another option could be to replace the single action nagant with the double action nagant which should make it fire faster

WORST GUN IN ENLISTED is Beretta M38 (20 round mag) Axis Moscow

So you would rather use the nagant than Beretta

Lol

best thing is you dont have to use nagant revolver at all, its sidearm

however beretta takes a whole late campaign lvl to grind
its meant to be main weapon FOR ASSAULTER
once grinded it lets down everyone in your roster who has it equipped

I was thinking the worst gun in terms of stats.

Beretta is off-topic here but I do understand it’s issue

agreed with nagant revolver though, they could also add reichsrevolver to twitch reward… all revolvers DA only

Also my dream is having 45ACP Luger as reward from twitch in normandy , either as allies or axis

If I recall small magazine & slow rate of fire is actually good thing and allows one playing tactically or something like that.

Dude:

PPsH is bad because it has a very high RoF - you waste a lot of ammo.
That makes Nagant Revolver, one of the best if not the the best gun in the game because you save a ton of ammo with it.

Merely making the Nagant a dual action instead of a single action would make this revolver perfect for a 1 silver, starter sidearm…

sv_gravity 200 and you were fine

If you’ve ever fired a Nagant revolver in real life, you’d not be making these suggestions.

I have one, and I can tell you, it’s an atrocious revolver to deal with. This is coming from a guy who is a sucker for all things eastern bloc, weaponwise.
The trigger pull is very stiff and and long, it’s difficult to remain on target with the shallow sights. This also makes it very slow to fire, which is modelled in the game correctly.
Your second objection would depend on the type of Nagant revolver they model. Mine is a double action, so in this sense I would agree with you. But if it’s the single action (I havn’t used the Nagant in a bit] where the player character has to recock the hammer every time. It absolutely should break the sight picture, as it does in real life unless you’re very skilled.

Third, again, the Nagant revolver is slow and difficult to reload. You have to empty each chamber individually with the little plunger (Which isn’t spring loaded so it snaps back into it’s folded position each time) and then re load it one chamber at a time because the cylinder does not swing out like more “modern” revolvers would. Again, this slow reload is modelled correctly.

Fourth. The bullet is slow, but it’s also not very hard punching in comparison to other weapons in the game. The 7.62x39mmR sounds beastly on paper. But the 39mm cartridge fully envelops the bullet creating a gas seal with the barrel when the weapon is fired. They measure that as part of the cartridge length, but it doesnt actually contain propellent. So the round is somewhat anemic, despite it’s extra 200m/s boost from it’s unique gas sealing abilities.

Overall, I’d say, the Nagant is modelled fairly accurately in game and shouldn’t be messed with. I consider it a novelty weapon like having the Liberator in Battlefield V or the mare’s leg in Battlefield 4. Cool to have, hallarious if you kill someone with it, but overall not really meant to be relied on.

Got to be the most in dept description of the Nagant I’ve seen here. it’s very interesting. ppl here usually have the misconception that “if it’s a revolver, it shoots powerful rounds” because reasons…

As you said the Nagant is correctly modeled and truly hilarious to use (I use it to execute enemies on the ground or from behind point blank in the head, cause i’m an asshole).

The only thing I’d deem fine to modify, is to have the Nagant as it’s dual action version instead of single action. During the Moscow offensive period, dual actions were very very common, compared to the single action one that was removed from service. everything else is fine.

I mean if we look for efficacy, we can use the beautiful Tokarev. (No way i’ll use the broomhandle with my Soviet soldiers!)

Even a gun historian said that the gun is good for suicide or something like this considering the little practical military use as its already obsolete long ago.

This is actually a pretty common misconception prepetuated by RPG games like Fallout, it’s used to balance things out so revolvers aren’t obsolete
