Myths about war // War on myths

Enlisted - the game that сoncerns about to the details of history. We already have infromation that is 4 theatres of war have been planned (probably only for now). We have options to play as a soldiers of divisions who realy took part in that battles.

Logically, that there is a lot of disputes surrounding the historical context of the game. Controversy about participation in battles of certain types of weapons, about the historical reliability of the uniform, about the degree of correspondence of the picture of the game to reality.

On the one hand, history has already happened and the facts of those times cannot be changed. On the other hand, the interpretation of the course and results of the battles, the details of the events, differ both in time and from country to country.

As in real life, historical disputes flare up here and there on the forum. The situation with the search for historical truth about the events of those years is aggravated by the spread of myths and, in general, inaccuracies.

This is the 21st century, we have the opportunity to exchange information and fight wild distortions of facts. I invite history lovers to use this topic to exchange of historical documentaries, videos, books and other information that shed light on the history of days gone by.

ATTENTION: This theme WAS NOT CREATED FOR SWEARING, NOT FOR SELF-ASSERTION THROUGH INSULTS, NOT FOR PROVOCATIONS. This topic was created for EXCHANGE OF MATERIALS ABOUT HISTORY in the framework of CIVILIZED COMMUNICATION. I hope the developers can also use the information from here.

PLEASE RESPECT YOURSELF AND OTHER FORUM PARTICIPANTS! STRIP FOR OBJECTIVITY! DO NOT BE RUDE TO EACH OTHER!

PROPOSAL: If possible, accompany the information about the material with a description of the interesting facts that you gathered there. Try to use materials with a link to the source (original documents).

Post interesting content! Good luck!

Some of the most popular myths about the Red Army. Video is accompanied by references to historical sources. In addition, the many other videos of the channel is perfectly visualized.

Partisans and Nazi collaborationists in the Soviet Union. Brief coverage from the standpoint of the history of irregulars. The video is just a documentary chronicle that captures a lot of things.

I would like to see Propaganda music being played by the NKVD and SS divisions

We are welcome all points of view if they are historically!

Would like if they put some info of the gun on the stat card. For example “The MP 28 was an improved version of the MP 18” or something like that.

…we already have gun Info

most are really bad descriptions, tbh.
And often dont match the actual gun stats.

The Sherman burn-rate myth is a given. At its worse it was still typical for a medium tank.

Less of a myth but there’s still general confusion on what made the stg special. As anyone here should know, it wasn’t the first select fire, but it did combine select fire with an intermediate cartridge. iirc Italy made an intermediate cartridge earlier.

At the suggestion of mr Shanghai_Shrek. Myths of american armour. About casualties, names of tanks, tank commanders and so on.

Sry Gaijin but

This is from Wargaming event

I still want War Daddy II to show up as a premium

As far as I know STG was “just” different good ideas put into one gun.
AK is similar in that matter.

Mechanized / motorized German army is myth that should be dealt with. They had more horses than motor vehicles.

I doubt we will have horses in the game but it’s good to know this.

PS.
I hate you Google. This is not a warhorse:

You’ll find better result if you use mounted infantry.

How did the “Overlord” look from the German side?

Normandy landings of Allies 1944 and fall of the Wermacht troops on the Western Front. Two parts. A lot of interesting details.

Animated map of Western Front. You can even find divisions which is playable in Enlisted. However didn’t find 2nd Parachute Division on the map.

I also liked this video as it covers the battle of Moscow (the one we play in Enlisted)

Joint US-USSR documentary about Eastern Front. Filmed at time of Cold War in 1978, but still have the complitest and complex point of view on Soviet-German war.

International Women’s Day is approaching. I congratulate all women of the world on this wonderful spring holiday!

Today’s topic is women in World War II:

A short video about American women and their contribution to the Allied victory.

A documentary about brave British women during World War II

Russian women on the fronts of the Great Patriotic War

From the depths of hell in silence… No more words are needed except these: Sabaton and Yarnhub.

Ranks (insignia) suddenly appeared in the Enlisted. So far, only the insignia of privates.

An occasion to refresh your knowledge (learn) about military insignia and insignia in the Red Army, the Wehrmacht and the US Army.

WWII German Rank Structure: Dienstgrade der Infanterie

Ranks of the Waffen-SS

U.S. Army Rank Insignia of WW2

U.S.S.R: Soviet Army Ranks & Structure (not prewar Red Army)

Ranks and insignia of the Red Army and Navy 1935–1940

Ranks and insignia of the Red Army and Navy 1940–1943

Ease of manufacturing (stamped receiver)
Intermediate cartridge
selective fire
separately articulated pistol grip and stock
Fed from an external box magazine.

I wasn’t aware any other weapon that checked all those boxes from the Italians/Russians prior.

He didn’t say anything else put it all together - he said the StG put it all together - all those things existed in 1 or more weapons already.
