I have binged this game for a good week or two and gotten what I feel to be a good perspective of the game. Here are my suggestions:
Make AI squad members more aware, and make their accuracy more aligned with their rank/experience.
Allow AI squad members to spot things on the map.
Give us more options for ordering our squads, like:
• Covering fire: Squad will stand and open fire at an area, with max ROF but lower accuracy
• Grenade volley: Squad members with anti-personnel grenades will throw grenades at an area
• Target: Squad will target/prefer to target members of a specific enemy squad; they will gain an accuracy bonus at the cost of ROF
Flamethrowers work a little incorrectly. IRL they were longer ranged than they are in game and they could light tanks on fire. They may already do the latter but I can’t really tell, and if it does, it doesn’t show up as you doing the damage.
Allow ground vehicles to be modded out - give us the option to switch out the 75mm in a Sherman for a 105mm howitzer, for example
Make HE more powerful, it feels very underpowered in the case of smaller guns like the Stuart’s 37mm. Like it’s not supposed to be very powerful but shooting a round that hits right next to someone should at least knock them down.
I’d say add a half track squad. Make it a vehicle slot and deploy with a half track that acts as a spawn beacon (heroes and generals style) and you get a rifle squad with it. Mechanized infantry were a huge thing in WW2 on all sides
The blitzkrieg succeeded so well because infantry could keep up with the armor thanks to vehicles such as the half track. There were units dedicated to being mechanized infantry. That’s like saying “paratroopers weren’t huge”. What do you think panzer grenadiers are?
I did not say they didn’t exist just that they were not huge … most of the infantry divisions were foot or motorized only a small portion were Mechanized
Sure only a small portion jumped from planes too but those are always represented and given special units. We have a combined arms game and having the definition of combined arms should be included
