My Recommendations

After playing the game for about a week (since open beta launched) I have to say I have fallen in love with it. The game’s concept is awesome, and it’s massive shootouts along with it’s strategy combine two of my favorite types of games into one. The planned update looks phenomenal already as it seeks to fix a majority of the recommendations I had such as more commands, individual solider placement, and mantling/climbing ladders (Those windows are brutal). That said I still have a few ideas to share that hopefully you might agree with. Lets start.

  1. Downing People
    To put it simply, you just down people too often. Kills that otherwise would’ve been great shots are eliminated almost every time because almost every time you shoot someone they go down. Here is a perfect example: Twitch
    Its unsatisfying to land a killshot on someone just for it to down them and I’d like to offer an idea to fix it. Make a medic squad. A squad built specifically for reviving allies that would eliminate the annoyance of everyone being able to revive themselves even after you landed a great shot.
  2. Crouching
    A lot of the time it is hard to tell if you are stood up or crouched. My idea to help with this would be to simply add a stance indicator to the hud so tat one can see if they are crouched or not. It’s not a perfect fix, but it’s one nonetheless.
  3. B-Hopping
    I’m not against B-Hopping as it takes a good amount of skill and understanding of the game to use the movement in such an advantageous manner; however, it doesn’t seem suiting for a strategy game. Especially a WWll strategy game. This coincides with another one of my recommendations being if you’re going to nerf jumping I.E making it so you can’t aim while jumping, nerf it all the way. What I mean by this is that you can jump very far forward and string jumps(B-Hopping) to make yourself very hard to hit when clearing an area or crossing a road. As I said, I’m not against this, but if you’re making a change to combat people flying around corners and shooting you, you may as well nerf the rest. It just doesn’t seem like flying around like that belongs in a game like this.
  4. Contextual command
    The contextual command is very buggy and almost never goes where you want it without multiple tries. My idea was to add an animation of your solider pointing to where the command would go to make it more clear where it is placed and what your soldiers will be doing.
  5. Teammates hardly visible
    I saw someone post about this and was thinking about it even before that post, but when you are playing with friends it is impossible to see them which is aggravating. You have to sit there and say “hey is that you” every time. You can see them on the mini-map very well, but when they’re next to you it’s impossible. This also coincides with another one of my recommendations in that you should be able to see if your teammate is a player or if it’s their squadmate. I think being able to see the player ID and if it is the actual player then it’ll just be their ID, but if it’s their AI it’ll be their ID with (AI). Ex. if I were looking at myself from another account and I wasn’t partied with my account I’d see a blue arrow with DeadlyZodiac next to it and if I were looking at the AI I’d see DeadlyZodiac(AI). And if i were on another account and partied with my own I’d see a Teal arrow and DeadlyZodiac, DeadlyZodiac(AI).

Those are my recommendations for Enlisted. There are already some great changes announced and I am excited to see more. Hopefully some of these ideas are shared and perhaps implemented. If a dev is reading this by any chance, keep up the good work, I love the game thus far.

well, this is matter of opinions of course, and i see your points.

according to a promoted streamer, the europeancanadian, & recent devblog:

the crouch is about to " reworked"

We will turn on by default the ability to move in a crouch by holding a button, rather than just pressing the crouch button once. You will be always able to choose how exactly the crouch button will affect the character’s behavior.

just like i suggested a while ago, many markers and animation should be changed…
i hope it’s going to be a matter of time.

well, they did actually changed the color, your platoons is based through numbers that changes everytime, and each friend AI unlike all the other AI of blue color, they are green… but yeah, we can both see that it’s a bit harder to see, let alone colorblind peoople…

and lastly, during the alpha of the first moscow, i remember that names were present. but those has been removed due to clustering too much the ai.

just like i had the opportunity to change for various test, the main issue still remains as opacity changer and color gradiations for markers is not a thing… that’s the main issue.

but yeah, aside from those things that hopefully are going to get fixed,

About the crouching: I often feel like I need to be just slightly taller to look out of a window and shoot people. It feels like there are lots of head height windows that are just fine for looking out of but nearly impossible to shoot out.

About movement: It’s what makes me enjoy the game. Without rapid movement and being able to ‘fly’ around corners it’s just another WW2 shooter, and a mediocre one at that. It’s what makes Enlisted unique and worth playing over other games with realistic WW2 guns.

About seeing your friends and being able to cooperate with them: I’d like an option that enables me to have a nick name over friendly players, and just over the soldier they currently control. Nothing fancy, just a snappy name over their heads that snaps over when they control another soldier. It’s really meh to play with friends right now because there isn’t much difference to just playing alone.
To piggyback onto this: Medics would be great. Or just make the -75% healing time and +200% healing received work when giving meds to allies, and enable us to designate bots as medics so they prioritize reviving comrades over shooting. Helmet with red cross on it would be cool? Yeah medic hat is gud stuff.

The down thing should be removed. You shot somebody he is dead!

Since I can’t make separate topic - my suggestion is SWAPING soviet tier 1 tank with tier 2 - that t60 is way more armored than its German t1 counterpart, and often a 1 series of AP rounds from soviet tank can easly destroy enemy Panzer - which is so frustrating. Soviets T1 should be swaped, since we can’t really nerf a historical statistics of tanks. OR German tier 1 tank should be swaped with tier 2, to give a chance against enemy one IMO.
