My reasons for normandy sitting at the looser table with Tunisia

Normandy currently together with tunisia doesnt sit with the cool kids like moscow and Berlin. But with the new update it looks promising
There are a few reasons i see why.

(MY opinion) I play both axis and allies.

1.The maps.
Most maps are mostly mediocre, some are bad and only 1 is amazing.
The “Bad” maps: Ver sur mer, Airfield.
Both maps have interesting spots but the first 3 objectives are just complete PAIN to play, i dont like running into a wall as allies, and i dont like stomping as axis, its like lets have americans run into tanks, snipers, MGs and enter through a single enterance.
These maps are just boring, theyre 2 last objectives are quite good tough.

The “Mediocre”
Le Bre, D-Day. Both maps are just meh, have their problems but are fun at times.
Clearing bunkers with shotguns, defending a farmhouse near a small town is fun, but are missing flavour, aka unique and interesting places to fight mostly.

Le bre - “go take this house, then another, then another, and then maybe go take a boring church that sucks.”

D-Day - “go take this bunker, go take this house while being rained down by Tanks, MGs”
These maps are still not bad. But since they come up so often they get dull very fast.

The “awesome” map.
Omer - this map is pure gold, so many interesting objectives, not just a “House” e.x a fuel dumb, a court yard, a street by a bridge, a small castle, a crossroad, a small park with a fountain. Going to left and right sides of the river keeps the action going. Just an amazing map, straight out of saving private ryan.

The new map looks awesome, hope it will live up to expectations,

  1. The early unlocks.

They are TERRIBLE. Why didnt they just look at moscow? Who cares about british and italian guns?

The AT options are pretty uninteresting too, why not M1 bazooka and Panzerfaust and then M1A1 bazooka and a panzerchreck?

Why a Bren and a Breda? Why not a MG13, a ZB26, an early BAR? Then give 1919mg on 25 lvl.
Why the M3 grease gun as the first SMG? Just make it the 1st one M3A1 and the second the M1A1 thompson?
Why us the STEN there? The lanchester?

The campaign is filled with these annoying unlocks that work as filler and offer nothing good or unique.

Lets take a look at moscow shall we? By LVL12 you have a lot of amazing gear so you can preform and variants of the iconic weapons.
E.X MP40/38, PPD34/38, MG13, K98k, Mosin, PZ3E, BT7, Stuka, IL2, I153.
Moscow doesnt waste time giving you filler stuff, after LVL12 you go to the amazing gear and even more iconic stuff. It gives us most things that participated during the battle early.

Now back to normandy: we get the thompson on lvl 29 :rofl: we dont even get the 1919mg, the panzerfaust is so late even dough it is common place and is the first useful AT option.

  1. The balance is just fucked, why did they give the Panther A? Not even the D? Aka the sluggish and the worst one? Wheres the M8 greyhound, 76 sherman? Why did we even need the jumbo? I wont talk too much here since im beating a dead horse at this point.

That is it, hope we get some new good maps atleast

Oh yeah forgot Ruins of Vaux, sorry.
Its mediocre in my eyes.
I just get Lebre, airfield, Dday and forgot that one

by early BAR do you mean the m1918a1 since the only other one is premium also d-day is probably the sole reason why jumbo got added

if its so bad for you, why you even play it?

is anyone forcing you to play it as it is?

i find normandy a good campaign to farm kills, just that.

I agree on most things with you, especially that OMER is a great map with very varied objectives and I support the idea of introducing more maps of that style but personally I would like a more scary environment (like a ghost town) climate cloudy, foggy in the streets things like that. I also agree that the map of VER-SU-MER and Aerodromo are terrible, VER-SU-MER for its first two objectives, that literally if you don’t make a good move in the first wave, you can already give up the game for loss or you will lose a lot of reinforcements and in the airfield it is more than obvious that giving reinforcements of troops to destroy the zeppelins is silly and I hope they improve it. And do not put so much filling.

Normandy is far better than Tunisia and one of the best campaigns in the game. The only problem now is that Germans are winning like 90% due to most of the player base are choosing to play that faction.

I have spent more than 50% of my time on Normandy to grind to lvl 32 on Axis side. While I think Ver sur Mer is kind of unfair, Airfield doesn’t seem as bad as you claim. I have lost at least a third of my matches there, and I think it would be pretty balanced if only they moved the tank spawns (right now I can one shot Allied tanks in their spawn from the Axis tank spawn, which I think is terrible). They also should undo the semi-auto nerf and nerf the autos instead, which I think is the biggest problem affecting all Normandy maps.

Its just not as good as it should be, not like moscow and berlin.

And most issues i listed are quite simple

Ehhh, Airfield is still trash and mostly axis sided. Its not fun to play as axis for me because i rarely get to shoot my gun because the allies are stuck on the first Obj. Its not fun for me lol and yes i have STG there

Maps are mostly fine. Ver sur mer invasion is straight up hell for allies but outside of that both sides can win with some effort.

I agree about unlocks. We get italian and UK stuff but we don’t have proper squads. This is unfunny joke.
About their usefullness, at least for Ge it’s mostly fine. Lancaster is a joke from “lore” perspective and 3 BARs are idiotic.

About tanks, Jumbo was a mistake and devs introduced another one (Panther) instead of fixing it. I guess it will happen to all campaigns sooner or later. Powercreep is already here and it won’t go away.

You say why bren and breda, instead of the others, well I explain to you, ITALIANS AND ENGLISH, THEY USED THOSE WEAPONS, DURING THE WHOLE WAR, Tunisia is 2 countries VS 2 countries, not Germany VS USA, I am already tired of seeing Germans everywhere, and I appreciate very much the Italian weapons, which give something new to the gameplay and visuals, even if their uniforms are done badly, and I tell you the early unlocks of AT, it is because Tunisia happens in 1942 until 1943. surprise , There was no panzerfaust in Tunisia, the only thing there were were the German AT rifles that were horrible, and the Italian AT rifles, which were better than the Solothurn 100 and the Solothurn 1000. if you want to play with the Germans alone and their stuff see to Berlin or Normandy. because there are still many Italian and English things to put in.

I do not want it to seem that I come to fight or get involved with you, only that variety, not so much German and their things, I want things from another group, divisions, weapons and if you are not cool you can put other weapons and divisions, also all weapons I think that are balanced, even though the Beretta are a bit nerfed and the lancaster too strong

You know… I used to be one of the most vocal here about how bad Normandy was and how Moscow was better. Past tense, time changes. Since the plane bombs balancing, Normandy isn’t only bearable, but pretty fun. Healthy mix of open fields, towns cities and ruins. There’s still dday, sure (I hate that map whatever the side but it’s personal preference, disregard), somewhat odd vehicles choices… But the fun is here and that’s all what matters to me. Heck, I’m even starting to neglect my once beloved Moscow since the unnecessary semi auto nerf, as I find boring using 3 sniper squads with mkb42h or to stomp with ppsh avs squads. As for Tunisia, weapons are fine, balanced even. We just need to wait for an Axis migration to help our Italians (problem is solely player based).

Im sorry but you are an idiot. No one is saying anything against tunisia but normandy. Tunisia is fine normandy isnt. Italians didnt fight in normandy but the germans did but they get italian weapons

Yes i agree. I do enjoy the campaign but the maps are just not that good. They are not comparable to Berlin or Moscow. Omer is but the rest no.
With how dumb the map rotation is i never get Omer lol.

All i really want for normandy now is some new good maps

ok I misunderstood, thinking you were referring to Tunisia, but insulting is a bit XD, but the Germans did use a lot of Italian weapons, looooooong, the breda 30, the berettas and carcanos, because they had no shit left to give them in Normandy, since everything was sent to the east, even Italian brigades fought in France, so if it is normal that they are

They mostly gave captured soviet guns. Like mosins and DPs. Yes there were italian guns but theyre not justified being so early in the campaign, same as british.

If a new player joins the game he wants to use an MP40 not a beretta, he wants to use a thompson not a Sten.

There really were from all the countries there, I have to tell you that the beretta was and is much better than the MP-40, and the beretta is unlocked later but oka, you speak of the FNAB-43, which was also super used by the germans in normandy

Since the Germans preferred the Italian submachine guns to their own, because they had a better performance
