My new love

To those finding the grind difficult on Axis side, in Berlin… I say hang in there! Seriously, if only for that beautiful thing, it’s worth grinding up from mere Volks all the way up to ss fanatics to finally unlock this. A joy to use.

Oh also, just for fun: Those who have unlocked it, post a picture of it here to compare artistic decals

Edit: know what? Whatever your tank, Whatever your faction, post a picture of it here if you are proud of it’s looks. Bring in some sexy IS2 as well!!! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Nice, here’s a real photo from the s.Pz.Abt 505 so you can adjust your decals.

The knight is a bit smaller and applied under the commanders cupola and the number moves to the gun barrel, just in front of the mantlet: https://i.imgur.com/uvcYu5T.png

You knew right ahead what I was trying to aim at  thanks for the pointers! It’s a bit difficult trying to place the numbers, as it’s not the right tank turret model…

There’s also very few photos of that vehicle still existing… Knowing how much troubles it caused Soviet forces I can understand why thought

I’m hoping, and it’s a very wild hope, that once cosmetics are unlocked for uniforms that I’ll be able to choose the proper ones. But as they were ss ones, they risk being unavailable… even if they were simply just pitch black

I’ll switch all those decals on the proper model once we get the right turret model! Hopefully it won’t be a premium vehicle :expressionless:

@SusTruppen

I’ve been a bit masochist with Berlin. I kept grinding it months ago when it was still very one sided (my win rate is very low at 60% something here) there just wasn’t much axis players then but I still unlocked everything up the mp43 that wasn’t released yet. It’s a bit better for now thought: there’s real ppl in soldiers boots. Maybe the KT being one of the reason players are flocking back? So if you want to grind Berlin axis, now is the time! Until KT or another wonderful vehicle gets unlocked in Normandy (then axis will flock there).

Heck, I even played with @Shiivex yesterday so there’s some familiar faces to be found atm. He also have a sexy KT of his own btw (I climbed on it and felt like the king of the world).

How did you add just 1 cross? I did not manage to do that.
And I love doing this on all of my tanks (in War Thunder too).

PS: I only own his small brother…

sorry for spam

Your tanks look beautiful.
I did not touch Berlin for weeks…so the grind is real.
Looks worth it!

First of all, your tiger also looks very nice! I have something similar on Normandy with the Devil’s head stuff!

To put a single cross on is hard to explain so I’ll do my best. You have 2 options:

1.Place the victory marks on the vehicles top and arrange it in such a way that only one cross drops on the side of the turret.
The con is that you will have some crosses on top of your vehicle, but considering how massive your tanks are, no many people will see, notice or care as from the side at all angles (which infantry and tanks will see) you can only see one cross.

  1. place the victory marks on the gun barrel and adjust so you get a similar effect. ( I did this with the panzer 3 J1 in moscow). SEE:

As you can already see, the downside with this method is that the crosses (and stars if doing it for soviet and america) is that they also appear on the turret. I try to hide this by putting a decal on the gun to either look like camo, or simply to make the gun look it has markings on it (as some german tanks had rings, I think allies also did such as with the fire fly). I also attempted this look with the panzer 3 as you can see.

Dude, you explained it well. I can’t stand that the developers are too lazy to implement proper markings like the mandatory Balkenkreuz, the German cross, on these vehicles.

And the “victory markings” (4 crosses) or what ever it’s called in english are wrong, aren’t they?
I saw pics from WWII with markings on vehicles that showed the opponents symbol or just rings, as you’ve stated already. On German stuff it would be stars (or rings), to show they shot soviets or other allies.

Erika, yes it’s quite dark. I’ve looked through all the available camouflage options in Normandy.
And it sucks that it’s just standart yellow. And it sucks that it’s 150 GOLD for one decal symbol!
2,50€ for another colour. I don’t think so. I kill 100 tanks and get NOTHING. That’s not nice.
In War Thunder you can get access to camo by killing a certain amount of tanks.
How did you do the rings?

The dark grey camo, I found it funny, it looks like a shot and burned tank. I don’t know why DarkFlow put it here, but I thought it will be funny if enemies think the tank is dead already. Like a nameless ghoul.

I (usually) really like to put decals on tanks that are kind of correct …or symbolize my birthday (5th of May, 55).

To @Conscript_Joe sorry for derailing your precious threat.
It’s sad that there is no other way to post “cool pics” and that every topic is about nonsense mostly,
without cool suggestions. Sorry again. I wish I had the Tiger II right now! And with decals.
And I will post here when I reached that beast. Could take a month or so, as I’m a snail right now.

Every German tank had a three digit number, cross (and unit symbol) or a name given by it’s crew.
DarkFlow, let me WIN options to individualize my tanks, please.
And make customs cheaper. It looks so cool to have at least SOME individuality.

Joe, I love this topic. Have a nice day.

Hey there’s no problem at all!
From time to time I simply like creating a post that’s simply about enjoying stuff and sharing interests. It’s being a bit refreshing in my opinion when it has nothing to do about balance issues and which thing is better than which :stuck_out_tongue: I just like when there’s fun and interesting discussions.

I seriosuly can’t believe it’s not added yet. Worse… it should be there by default! This and the white star for Usa, the red star for Soviets… Why aren’t those on tanks already :frowning:

They missed out cutting and pasting the "roundels and insignias"section of the WT decals. They got some of the other sections but not the critical one… It’s almost as if the two teams don’t communicate effectively…

It says “Dmitri Donskoy”. He was the first prince of Moscow to openly challenge Mongol authority in Russia. His nickname, Donskoy “of the Don”, alludes to his great victory against the Tatars (1380), which took place on the Don River. He is venerated as a Saint in the Orthodox Church with his feast day on 19 May. Soviets often wrote names of saints and older heroes of russian history on their tanks
