before the update I decided to use and grind the dedicated MG squads a bit, apart from the initial interest in using a weapon that I used very little I was curious to know what other players who used it were finding, I discovered it
and not is for me
but I decided to share my discovery
squad MG is as good as it is crap, it is so good in distance support and this is true for all MGs (breda, madsen included) as well as in CQC (hold my beer STG) but it has a huge weakness due to the previous nerf, that is, the dispersion in movement and on the distance
let me explain better
being a mobile player I never stop in a single point I move a lot in short, and moving using a MG I end up having a very bad accuracy and the first enemy I meet kills me, it’s not the fault of the weapon but of my style of play that prefers smg and SA and close combat in movement which is completely incompatible with the correct way to use an MG
(except the BAR)
And this penalizes me a lot also counting the slowness of the soldier using an MG is an overkill for myself that I hate use this type of weapon but it doesn’t mean that I don’t know how to use them correctly is the way to use them correctly that I hate and relegate it to the class of assaulter for in case it is necessary to have to do suppression to defend a target
ultimately if yours style of play is based on camping and giving support from afar this is the weapon for you if you are like me who can not stand still stay away you will only hurt your brain
THANKS FOR ATTENTION

Imo the two most dificult things for players not acustomed with MGs are:
- to not hold the “fire” button. It’s very tempting and very stupid.
- to use bipod correctly, especially in fast games (like enlisted). This is your case.
From the oposite side of spectrum I can tell you that sometimes I mount SMGs and try to do I don’t even know what. Old habbits die hard.

This makes a lot of sense.
I do move a lot, BUT never in a straight line towards the cap. I always lurk to the sides, trying to find a good flanking spot while HOLDING fire until I know I found a good ventage point.
It’s why for me, lmgs are wonder tools, as well as bolt actions, while semis feel weak to me: since rof nerf, and because their damage is vastly inferior to bolt actions, I never use them, BECAUSE I take my time to aim and rarely miss.
But like you say, it’s due to play style. Were I on the move more, I’d probably prefer semis as I’d be more prone to miss my shots while moving fast
Smgs are really easy to use with any style, so it’s a player friendly weapon, easy to use, learn and master. Best tool to cap points.

MG’s rquire diffrent playstyle, but some restrictions should apply to them as they are most powerfull guns.
One tactic i like with use of bots or friends in game.
Set up MG behind cover, or just lay down in some maps. Yell SUPPRESSING FIRE and shoot everything You see.
Order bots or friends to move forward.
Once they arrive, switch to next gunner and reapeat. Or do something else this is not an order
