I’ve no idea if this is any good. I just kind of picked the best perks that were available to me at the time each level up came and I had to learn about the level up perks with him.
Is he any good?
Also, I haven’t unlocked Sniper 2 yet. Is there any big advantages to them (or Sniper 3) over a Sniper 1?
[Forum won’t let me embed an image of my dude for some reason, so I’m going to list his details and hopefully be able to edit to add the screenshot after I figure out how]
David Hensley Sniper V (Sniper 1)
+14% maximun jump height
Greater chance to get in downed state upon taking fatal damage, +50% downed state time before death
-50% effecr of head-shaking caused by nearby explosions, -25% duration of the concussion
+100% breath holding time while aiminf
+100% speed of extinguishing fire
+100% stamina regeneration speed
The one I really wanted that I didn’t get was the +12% fire rate with bolt action rifles, but I don’t know how important that is especially when I find Sniper Garands on the ground fairly frequently.
I don’t remember Fast Healing ever being available for him, and when run speed came up, it was a choice of it or breath hold time. I went with breath hold time.
They can be hella useful in defensive battles. Especially if you got a good vantage point on an enemy attack route (admittedly more so in the Pacific, Tunisia or Moscow)
good perks for assault snipers with garands are usually
Reload speed,
Fast Extinguisher of fire,
Fast Healing
Run and/or Sprint Speed perks.
Additionally ( and if you can ), you it will aid you to have the reduced shake by grenade perks.
as well as the greater chance of getting downed but not required.
so, your sniper right now has 2 out of 5 perks.
not bad i’d say.
but i presume you are using the Springfield with scope.
in that case, eh… it doesn’t really work as it’s generally a slow firing weapon, low mag and what not ( for aggressive snipers )
you can still use it around and inside the objective to take out people with smgs, machineguns and engineers with their hammers in their hand.
regarding for the secondary troopers, keep an engineer with shotguns, an assaulter / machinegunner and then you want normal troopers with garand ( if you don’t have specializations yet ) and / or weapons with grenade launcher
but the idea is have balance in your squad to cover a variety of ranges.
snipers, for long range, everyone else either for mid or close range.
I keep my sniper squad at minimum.
2 snipers and a radio man.
Second sniper is a new recruit.
Yes, he does have an M1903A3 (maxed. I pick up Garand whenever I find one)
I tend to look for flamethrowers first, downed enemies next, and heads sticking out of cover. (That’s if I’m not countersniping. If there’s a sniper, I’m after him first)
I’ll eventually unlock the Sniper Garand and give him one unless there are going to be advantages to starting over from scratch with a Sniper 2/3.
Is there any difference between them aside from the base perks?
I tend to play my balance a bit differently than that.
My sniper squad I play strictly for sniping and radio strikes so if the map doesn’t call for it, I keep my snipers on the bench. My assault squad is large and much more balanced. (iirc) I have 3 assaulters, 2 riflemen, radio, and engineer. I use them to push towards objectives and set up rally positions. Then, I have a separate combat engineer unit to switch to if I need to set a point but my assault team got stopped.
Nice to meet you.
Mine Normandy sniper looks like this:
And stats of his friend with bolt-action looks like this:
I prefer to use Sniper 2, coz Breath holding perk in stock.
Numbers of stats are not very important for snipers.
I prefer to play Lone fighters, that’s why I use custom camo.
I prefer to have both: semi-auto sniper for support team rushes, and bolt-action for long range hunts.
Jump height perk is important, coz some very nice positions on roofs or rocks, and crawling speed is important coz snipers need to often change positions unpredictable.
I use health regeneration perk, coz often keep distance, and it helps so much vs assault weapons.
you always want to have a full squad to eventually pick up the sniper weapon or carry on fighting.
heck, they are also good spotters if in the forest. ( and / or bodies to pile on the objective for capture )
yeah, i forgot to include flametroopers lol.
which are more essentialy to target than one mg or smg.
generally, it is worthed, and at the same time, not really.
it depends what you want to do.
yes, if you want to have more sniper squads.
and allows you to have different loadouts and specialisation euqual or different from the first squad ( the choice is yours )
additionally, you could have 2/3 squads with sniper garands.
and at the same time, no it’s not worthed if you are not really interested and are just there for the weapon.
but you are kinda forced to grind it.
yes, there are differences of perks points once fully upgraded.
one has more green points, the other yellow and so on.
which allows you to have different or more perks compared to others.
although, this system will change with the merge so…
here for more " references / “”""“info”"""""
you could do that with snipers.
set up a rally, and defend it while your teammates tries to cap the point.
of course, depends from situations to situations.
but if you are an agressive sniper, there are different playstyles which are more about seeking the enemy rallies and / or being a nuissance on the flank to draw attention from the point ( if you are defending )
but if you are attacking, you want to hunt enemy rallies, and draw attention away or cut their reinforcements. which it’s like defending, but reversed.
at least, worked for me so far when i used to run with snipers.
now snipers, i kinda avoid them. as i go with larger squads.
snipers i only use them in lone fighter or PVE mods.
For explosions, I tend to find myself in spots quite often where I’m spotted but enemy riflemen can’t hit me through my loophole. They call in artillery and I get shaken. If I get spotted, I tend to fight to the death then switch squads.
So wait…you can just delete a perk and reroll?
I thought you had to pay money to change perks.
Oh, snap. I thought he was locked in now that he’s Sniper V. That’s ultimately why I was asking how this guy shapes up because these were all “best choice from luck of the draw.”
I’ll definitely tinker with him a bit more then. I just like to play squad games like lightweight RPGs where I have “my guys” that I stick with through the game unless there’s a strong reason to switch focus to a different Sniper and make him a secondary.
There are two situations that I LOVE playing if I find myself in them. I love playing a downed pilot behind enemy lines and I love playing a solo sniper who is low on ammo. I pick up a downed Lanchester, join in with someone else’s assault squad, (hopefully finding an ammo crate) and do what I can. So I find myself near fire and explosions fairly frequently.
