The PPSh-41 was popular in the German armies as well. Captured PPSh-41s were often used by the Germans against their enemies . It was so popular among German soldiers, in fact, that it was the second most used SMG among German forces in WWII.
This would also even the playing field against the M1928A1 with 50 round drum.
On the one hand I think the Tunisian Axis submachine guns are terrible and need something like this to make up for their shortcomings
On the other hand, I feel that there are too few players in the Tunisian allies, and strengthening the Tunisian axis will only make the one-sided situation worse
I’d like to see Kiraly 39/43M in Tunisia, they have a large 40 round capacity, high damage, high rate of fire and a good sight view, definitely better than the current Beretta 38, but if that happens the Tunis axis will play no differently than the Moscow axis
Ya, I would like to see more cross campaign gold order weapons, even vehicles where appropriate, like a FW 189 for Tunisa as a collector plane.
But… afik no Russian small arms were used in Africa, and the Breda SMG’s are very nice imo, I don’t an issue hear really myself with the axis having bad SMG’s in Tunsia.
It is indeed good, but not as good as the British Army’s M1928 Thompson. Just like the ZH29 is a great semi-automatic rifle, but not as good as the AVS36
Beretta m1 is the most cost efficient smg of the game, along with pps42. No recoil, decent rof, great accuracy, 40 ammo mag.
Then Beretta m38, greatly improved over the m1. It’s so stable and precise that it can be used to snipe! Rof is perfect as well.
What I mean is: there’s more important values than just damage per bullet. Axis smgs shine at medium distance in Tunisia, and can even be used at long range. Allies ones shred at short range (or medium if lanchester)
Beretta M38 is great and the other 2 Berettas are essentially the same gun as Beretta M38. OVP would be great if its reload wasn’t so slow. Small mag is fine for me.
Nah. They face Thompsons, the most overrated Tier III SMG in the game. If they didnt happen to have a drum, I would call the Allies SMGs borderline useless.
All I can find on your image is that those soldiers were in the Kuban swamps of russia in July 1943 around 2 months after the collapse of NA campaign in may of 1943. So him using north afrika korps equipment was most likely surplus (designed to go to NA) which was given to help them move easier through the swamps. Here are some other images of them using afrika korps equipment.
