Disclaimer
I was in a downtier against BR II Soviets, where the enemies I encountered (luckily) weren’t cosplaying as TMNT. Even simply removing body armour effect would buff the Germans immensely. Mind you, the MP35/I I was using had no upgrades.
Yes, I know I’m going to cop a lot of flak for this. But I honestly don’t think it’s a terrible SMG. Sure, it fires a lot slower than the PPSH or even Thompsons, but it hits fairly hard and has easy to control recoil (once you get the hang of the recoil curve). I found it to be accurate out to mid-range, which was always my favourite attribute in German SMGs (most other nation’s SMGs can, but worser).
Still, it was an upgrade over my MP40 I’d been using. I’m also going to cop a lot of flak for this as well, but I feel the ZK-383 is kind of mid. The sights are cramped, it has an odd feeling 30 round mag (after getting used to 32 round mags the entire tech tree up until this point). And whenever I use it, it just feels powerless compared to other SMGs I’ve used.
Honestly, all that needs to be done is a softened recoil (both felt and visual), and there’s a pretty solid SMG to compliment the Beretta M38 and ZK-383. And, of course, the removal of body armour effects. It’s a broken mechanic that isn’t present on any other nation (and frankly, shouldn’t). If I wanted to wear armour and fight battles, I would probably buy Chivalry.
Plus, there’s a (probably not so) secret trick that I learnt that makes the MP35/I more effective in battle.
Secret Trick?
If you reload the magazine part way through, you won’t have to rotate the bolt which saves an immense amount of time. I can’t tell you how many times it’s saved me. I’m sure the rest of you are aware of this, but I only just realised it.
I’ll probably just end up making a “Reduce Recoil (Visual and Felt) of MP35/I” suggestion. What does everyone else think of the weapon? I personally can’t wait until the MKb 42(H) is downtiered.
