Movement Mechanics: Bunnyhopping Prevention

As of this moment on 21/4/2021, bunny hopping has no negative effects on the player and greatly increases the player’s ability to dodge, sprint hopping, and kill enemies at close ranges by closing distance during a jump and firing simultaneously.

Suggested Changes: Add a negative height + distance + stamina drain multiplier based on how many times the player jumps in a short time. The more the player hops the shorter and shorter the jumps are and each extra hop drains higher and higher amounts of stamina.

Good idea. Also, jumping should both prevent from lining up the sights and add a severe accuracy penalty to firing on the move; these effects should last until 1 sec or so after touching the ground (required time to absorb the landing and recover firing stance).

I’m all for “nerfing” soldiers’ mobility, if that means preventing arcadey FPS stunts.

There definetly should be somekind ‘debuff’ after landing

this matter has already been adressed.

and devs answered with:

We will also remove the option to aim while jumping as well.

From development post:

hope this time it will remove bunny hoppers.

I’d dislike a penalty to repeated jumping, as it is needed for certain “parcour” elements like the buggy ladders, or getting up into attics, due to how buggy the jumps can be sometimes. Normally you only need one jump, but due to the inconsistency you need more.

Preventing aiming down sights while in the air should do the job tbh, as announced in the dev blog.

The problem is that there can be a chance that for example:

An enemy hipfires me around a corner with an SMG while they bunnyhop even if the devs take out the ability to aim while in midair.

SMGs and LMGs can still hipfire spray in close quarters combat even without needing to use the aim feature. What it really should be is:

We will also remove the option to fire while jumping as well.

If they really wanted to remove bunnyhopping as a combat option.

yeah, i thought it was going to be removed.

that doesn’t seems that has changed something.
