With the whirlwinds slow speed and extremely limited ammunition, having the chance to be up tiered to br5 in it makes it nearly completely useless since the p51 d-5 is better in every way

The P51D is better as a fighter, but the Whirlwind is classified as an attacker, so it could coexist.
Imo the guns + bombs combo could justify BR III. (It’s nearly the same weapons loadout as the BR V Tempest.)
On the other hand, we have P-38s at BR II, so why not.

It’s there mainly for having 2x500lbs in my view.
attackers get 2x500lbs in BR3. you have AP-1, B5N, Bf-110C and F. so it is in good company in BR3 for attackers. In comparison to other 2x500lbs attackers, Whirlwind should do well in air-to-air duels.

Besides, in Enlisted, ammo count for airplanes barely even matters, since everyone goes back and forth from the rearming point all the time anyways.

It matters if you are dogfighting multiple people or if you try to kill bomber raids. Each 20mm has only 60 rounds which will not be enough

It should comparable to other BR3 attack aircraft.
We should probably wait until players at least unlock it and see how good it is.

This is actually a slightly worse BF-110 (bomb), if the BR3 exists independently in the future it really should be in the BR3, but now it is still ridiculous to compete with the BR5

It takes more than 30 seconds to fly horizontally to the battlefield and complete the bomb delivery.
It also has 4 20MM machine guns and 500-pound bombs
Considering that the enemy is of the same level as 110 and carrier-based bombers
The 20MM machine gun can penetrate the armor of light tanks and aircraft
500 lbs can easily destroy the Tiger
I think this level is acceptable
But it is more suitable as a vehicle for development trees
Because the early bombers of the US military were almost all jokes (except for the P38)

Agreed I don’t really see this plane competing at Tier 3. Just change the bomb loadout to x1 500lb and x2 120lb’s so it can somewhat compete with the Romanian IAR-81c down at Tier 2.
The plane isnt even out yet but people somehow already want to change it…
