Honestly move the MAS-36 to the allies tech tree, it would fit better there. Germany doesn’t need it’s beautiful tech tree being ruined by a French gun there. Also if you are gonna keep it rename it to the Gewehr 242(f).

Add both Mas-36 and Mas-38 to Allied tech tree and
rename Axis Mas-36 to Gewehr242(f)
rename Axis Mas-38 to Mp722(f)

France lost most of its gear in dunkirk aswell as when it fell which germany captured and pressed into service.
Germany has a way more credible claim on the french gear than the USA which at best would inherit some from the few that where evacuated from dunkirk or only in use in the oversee colonies.
The vast majority would never leave france which was occupied and then assimilated.

The French produced 1.958 MAS-38 before they surrendered, the Germans produced 20.000 to 30.000 It would make more sense for it to be in the German tech tree and an event weapon for the Allies.

Stop eating that panzer IV!
This makes sense, at a glance, but the reality is that it belongs with the Axis. Pretty much any and all French military equipment belonged to either Germany directly or to pseudo-Germany in the form of the Vichy French, from June 1940 to August 1944. That’s more than 2/3 of the war.
