When i play the P38 plane in Normandy Allies campaign you can fly all day with it. but a more powerful plane with a better climb rate AFAIK, the Mosquito can hardly do turns, and if you try to fly it like a P38 you fall out of the sky and recover energy like a bomber. It actually does fly more similar to the Axis Normandy JU 188 bomber or even worse… And considering its a premium plane that doesnt seem to work as expected and seems quite underpowered. It should be performing comparatively to the P38 but it just feels like a tonne of bricks to fly.
For example. The Mosquito has ~1700HP and the ju188 also has ~1700HP but the ju EMPTY weight is the Mosquito MAX weight. Yet they fly similar. It just feels very off. Like making a Biplane a slow turner…
I also know how easily you enter a flat spin in the Mossie, the devs need to fix the flight model for sure!
I have a theory about this. The problem might be that they always put full fuel in planes. In some long-range fighters, that means they behave much differently then what the stats say. The solution would be to standardize fuel across planes, based on minutes like in WT. fighters get 30min fuel, heavy fighters and attackers 45min (that’s because they come from WT where they behave more realistically with a little more fuel), bombers get 1h or more. I noticed that the p-51D is also problematic, while the 109s fly very smoothly (which have a much smaller fuel tank).
