So winter is coming, nothing new here, it does so every year. By then we will have 6 campaigns to play and only 1 of them can be considered a winter one, Moscow. But right now, Moscow doesn’t feel very wintery, and many of the maps that we played on the winter version don’t appear anymore (ex Fortified District). Also from what i understood from other forum members, the snow amount from the winter map has been somewhat reduced.
I wish to call for a vote to bring those maps back, turn the snow to 11, add blizzards etc so we can enjoy a true winter campaign for the real winter season.
Considering we will have 5 other campaigns to play that are not set during winter time, i think this could be a good ideea to have for players that want to play something different and season related.
PS: bring back the Christmas trees for Christmas, those things were awesome.
I agree to being some more Winter into the game for Moscow especially, though one could argue that Stalingrad should get some of the same treatment. Winter was a big thing in that campaign. And one of the myriad of reasons why it failed.
Sure, you are right, but Stalingrad would require a new winter map, Moscow already has it. The vote was not to add something new to a campaign that takes a whole lot of time, rather to bring something back and tweak it a bit. And since this is the middle of September and they already have a new campaign to worry about and finish, Moscow is the most likely candidate to give us what we want in this timeframe.
We are almost certainly getting new additions to stalingrad and other campaigns when the big update hits.
So the potential is there that the assets are already in place.
As well, with the graphical update it is possible that snow effects (like the new rain and water effects) can be brought back in without effecting performance.
