It is engineer being able to provide unlimited ammunition. Remove or limit that aspect, and mortar problem will be pretty much dealth with.
Also I probably should point out, that title of the thread is a bit misleading as you are pretty much saying it is mortar that is OP, not engineer that makes it OP.
and the fact that it can shoot from inside spawn, without being counterable, needs to be fixed too.
I’ve found that mortars with cover too close overhead can shoot - but the shells do not appear to land.
I found this with a shelter in a trench - I was too close to the roof of the shelter and I wasn’t getting any kills or bursting icons on the map. i backed up a wee bit and presto - all was restored.
Yes, I agree that both of these limitations should be implemented.
