Mortar Squad Progression

I just started using my fresh mortar I (not II) squad today.
I’m OK with all the nerfs to it, but:
Please reduce the ammount of XP needed to level up.
With all the nerfs it’s very hard to level up. Example:
You need more than 10 000 XP for level 2 (two) and 11 280 for level 3. Are you serious?
It’s not OK for new players and those like me who never used it.
Now that the mortars are nerfed, please update the XP needed to level.
Thank you

Welcome to the grindy world of Gaijin Games.
Bad news, this will not change.

In War Thunder the Grind time in upper tiers is even with premium time way to high.
With lvl 40 in an Enlisted campaign and increasing lvl costs with higher tiers, it is too much for me.

I stopped myself from investing further with such a high grind.

Put an Engineer in the squad and if you wanna be real fancy, build a few ammo boxes with another squad, then bring in your mortar squad (with another engineer.)

The mortar squad is one of the easier squads to level with just a slight bit of effort.

Mortar is trash squad since last update.

Just like Radio man squad.

Both squad are trash and need something for sure.

It is possible that a person wants to grind them in order to melt the mortarmen in the academy with bronze orders. In general, for a quick grind, you need to use them as infantry units, and in view of the recent patch, concentrate as much as possible on kills during capture / defense.

This gives an inadequate amount of campaign experience right now.

for an engineer u need at least level 4 and this means over 40 000 xp with a rudimentary squad.
please think before writing.

@ Paramonov95 ty 4 ur reply
does it also give squad xp?
compared to other squads the xp requirements are insane anyway, please check them yourself.

All squads are like this, are very week until you unlock a few upgrades, and this progressively gets harder the higher you go. Earning the Engineer is typically getting over the hump and makes the rest of the grind easier.

Please think? Yeah, you should. You should also stop with the whiny attitude and solve your problems instead of just crying about it.

why is there this huge difference in xp for level up compared to other squads?
i think it’s because the squad was OP. But now it’s not anymore. The unproportional XP requirement is still there and it’s unbalanced imo.
This is not a hump this is a waste of time.

“Thínk” was inappropriate, sorry for that.
You may have had another expericence with the squad. Did you read my post carefully and check the problems i pointed to in game?

started playing with it yesterday and find the squad super efficient. At the start of the game you do carnage, after that it becomes less obvious in conquest.

it is necessary to pound the same area with a few meters of differences in several azimuth

I don’t remember the Mortar team being any more difficult to level then the squads that came after it (actually remember it being easier as mortars were so low risk.) I tried looking at my experience in relation to other squads on it; however, its maxed now and won’t show the exp to next level. I am about to unlock it with Germans in Normandy though.

My Flamer II squad is 20,000 exp to go from lvl 3 to 4 on US. I hate this squad right now; however, next unlock is the Engineer. Then I can actually do things worth while with the squad.

Getting ammo boxes around him was huge though… Once I had those it was easy sailing on them. Now though they reduced the amount of ammo you can get from them considerably and I do like it better this way as it was boring as all hell. Now, I drop the rounds and go on offensive.

You mean the radio squad? Mortar squads didn’t get nerfs apart from depleting more ammo when using ammo crates iirc.

I checked now with the squad before the mortar squad and it’s in the same range indeed.
I never noticed the huge upscaling in xp.
Sad that they make the game so grindy. I played other fps with no grind (especially bf2 mods) for years and had fun. I don’t need the grind to enjoy a game - on the contrary.
