I can easily get killstreaks with them as shown on my stream yesterday. Markers now indicate range, so you only have to mark and dial in. You can even use a mark as reference to get a rough range of an unmarked spot by looking at the minimap and compare.
well, still much better and somewhat, complex compared to battle of berlin test
you can still drop a mortar onto a machine gun nest or a tank
With enough practice, you sure can.
But the mortarâs issue was never killing power. It was counterability. Them shooting from inside their spawn makes them uncounterable. The infinite ammo is not an issue if they die before shooting 20 mortar shells.
Not with the layout of some maps.
Like in Moscowâs first invasion map, either youâre in the spawn or youâre in the open. And a mortar isnât going to work in the open.
You could go to the left or right, where there is minor cover outside of the spawn area.
The infinite ammo supply appears to be the problem as mentioned, that is the issue that needs to be addressed.

I have to disagree. There will always be someone too smart and find a place where this can be abused again. I don´t really want to keep telling people it is not mortars that are overpowered here. Perhaps your solution would work too, but I just don´t believe that it is permanent. With more maps and campaigns there will always be problem of âthat one crazy spot.â
Getting rid of infinite ammo supply (perhaps limiting the amount of ammo mortarmen squad can get per their spawn, not necessarily banning them from using it) at least gives mortarmen some initiative to use them strategicaly instead of the spam.
I found out today that ammo crates canât resupply captured weapons, so it shouldnât be hard to restrict mortars from it as well.
Additional mortarmen could just mean additional ammo if you want to dedicate to it.
well once you learn the crazy spot, you can counter the crazy spot. As long as you can get there, you can eliminate the enemy. With spawn, spawn killzones prevent you from doing so.
unless, like some war thunder maps, that one crazy spot is technically not in the spawn zone but is only accessible via the spawn zone
By crazy spot I meant the one that can be very easily defended, otherwise it would be just âa spotâ. So before you can eliminate them, spam is going to cause this kind of mess anyway. Why not just restrict their amount of ammunition alongside not allowing them to shoot from spawn? It would kill both flies with a single bullet. Mortars are effective enough even without their unlimited ammunition, if used properly so its not like it would hurt them (at least those who aren´t exploiting this).
can always do that if this isnt enough
