Mortar, artillery casualties

I’m not saying they don’t need balanced, but in WWII something like 85% of all casualties were from artillery/ mortar fire.

Arty needs longer cooldown, imo 1 minute could be cool, as if you dont have fast cooldown on Radio squad, it is useless then.

But mortars need at least something that you can see them from air or ground, now they are just noob friendly weapon, where you stay in black zone and no one can do shit, because they dont even know where you are, soo you cant even be bombed by plane.

That’s sort of the point of artillery; it’s indirect fire, and meant to stay protected, and out of the fray. If this game were played with any sort of tactics, then infantry would learn to hang back in pill boxes, trenches, or what have you while artillery unleashed hell on those stupid enough to approach the objective. Then the infantry would approach. As it stands, this game is just one, big, soup sandwich.

Although Artillery was a huge part of ww2, dosent mean we need an exploding simulator. Its not fun at all getting exploded every minute. Artillery needs serious nerf. This is largely an infantry game. Having random explosions blowing the crap out of my men every time or stunning me so I cant see most of the time is just bad and not fun at all (except for the team launching the wave of exploding fun)

I honestly love it! Stay away from the red circles on your minimap, and if you’re in one, then dive for cover and stay there until the bombardment stops. The immersion of having to dive for cover and then all hell breaking loose around us really gets my blood flowing! It might sound like I’m being condescending here, but I promise that’s not the case; practicing basic infantry tactics like moving cover to cover and having your next point of cover picked before you move is important!

I play artillery a lot. I also main tanks. On some maps I can just spam the exact same point and kill the same players over and over. If they just took a different path they would be fine. a good example of this is behind the open cap on swamps and the house on D Day. teams take the exact same route in. Infantry need to watch for the red circles and go elsewhere. there are seriously only a few caps which i can drop and kill everyone as they are in the open. the majority of caps are in buildings.

The same goes for tanks. I can sit in a tank on d Day and clear every bunker on the beach and all the MG emplacements and players keep running in to the same bunkers over and over to die. If I dont get dropped by a plane it is very easy to support the team getting off the beach.

basically, arty is fine if people just go around it.
