Right now every faction technically has an SPAA,but 2 were past event squads,and they were bad SPAAs for that,the other 2 are tech tree,but they arent very good as well.so why cant we have some good SPAAs to use,particularly for germany and japan as they have to deal with a LOT of plane spam and you wont have to take a fighter that loses all ground attack value to deal with planes.and there are quite a few from war thunder to pick,so all it needs is a quick port and there you go.
I agree, I also suggest, as they have talked about in another post on the forum, a gradual increase in the weapons of the engineer buildings among the different br to be able to defend themselves from certain planes, which no matter how powerful the engineersā weapons are, some Even if you hit vital areas, they resist enough to destroy your companions
Iāll be honest, Iām actually quite against adding more SPAAs.
As of right now they are only ever used for anti- infantry, and their usage is actually often detrimental to the team, as it takes up a tank slot, and SPAAs canāt really be used on front line.
Alternatively, I suggest they either fix current stationary AA guns, or allow us to build bigger ones at higher tiers, as the current autocannons are rather ineffective.
Heās got a good point, Anti-air may not really belong in the tank slot.
Iāve seen it plenty of times where an upset japanese AA tank keeps trying to fire at my plane until they get rushed by someone with an explosion pack. Japan struggles to get good tank support to begin with, compared to Germany, and having one of your few tanks on this side quest of shooting at a plane is more of a detriment when all infantry could do that instead.

If you are not good with classic AAs which you can build, you will suck with SPAA even more. Effectively just sabotaging your own team by blocking tank slots.
What you really want are better AAs, not SPAAs.
Support adding AA half tracks as APC squads in the game.
They can have stronger firepower than fixed AA because AA half tracks are more prominent in the eyes of their opponents, making them easier to destroy.
Possibly just merge, riders, APC, and SPAA into a ālight vehicleā slot area ⦠possibly even adding some armored cars / tankettes
Talking about bikers/armored cars is completely pointless until the driving model and physics for ground vehicles in general improve.
Otherwise theyāll will just suck anyway. Since you can run 100m on map in pretty short period of time anyway.
SPAAs is completely redundant vehicle type in this game.
Itās always better to just build AA with engineers rather than use (waste) whole slot for extremely situational vehicle (which currently do not have significantly better armament than regular AA anyway), especially if you have only 4 slots as f2p player.
The only reason anyone would want SPAAs is because they hope that SPAAs in the future will have better armament than current AA structures. Ohh, plus theyāre probably not good at planes either, since planes are generally more versatile than SPAAs or AAs. And it is always better to take plane over SPAA (if you possess proper skill).
Anything better than the current AA.takes 3 shots to kill a single paratrooper with a 20mm cannon that has a 20 round mag and overheats incredibly fast. And it barely scrtaches P47s,the primary plane you fight,unless he is coming head on to you and you get most of your magazine onto him.they need to bring back the 4 barreled flak for T4 and 5 because the single barrel is just inadequate for such highly armored planes.
The problem I have here is that its still another vehicle squad. At that point it just becomes Warthunder 2.0.
There is already going to be a big problem with the new german āAPCā they have on the event. Itās just going to be another big gun with a little armor (to prevent snipers from picking them off) sitting in the greyzone.
APCs need to be encouraged to actually push in, not hang back. Adding an AA version would make this even worse.

The Soviet AA is 7 rounds. Still takes 2 hits to kill paratroopers, and any aircraft beyond t2 takes at least the full 7 rounds to kill.
Yeah AA is in a truly bad place right now if it takes most of your magazine to kill an unarmoured paratrooper
This seems like a good idea to me. I think that it really sucks how thereās not much that you can do when planes are harassing your tanks and infantry, except build a stationary and underpowered AA gun.
I came from Heroes & Generals before playing Enlisted, and over there high-tier tanks (i.e. 8,8 cm) could actually fight planes with AP rounds by hiding in a forest and having very good shell trajectory prediction skills. I think it made sense, since the 8,8 cm gun was also used as an AA gun.
In Enlisted tank shells fly really slowly and with a massive drop-off, so thatās out of the question. Some tanks have top-mounted MGs for fighting off planes, but you really shouldnāt have to block a tank slot for doing that.
Let me switch to an AA APC instead so that I can help prevent my team from getting bombed to hell if the need arises.
