You should be able to take out an enemy tank in just 2 shots I have been shooting a tank in the side for 7 shots and it’s not dead. And also buff explosion packs.
i won’t say buff dem packs, but make them more constantan since if you cook it and throw it at their sides it should result in the tank’s destruction. if a tank barely moves out of the way of the dem pack it’s rendered as it hit nothing, also tank models are broken and only fire AP and not the APHE like in war thunder, so multiple shots are expected
Just played this game for 2 hours, and I feel tank MG and cannon is too weak. Like I hit a guy with 20MM HE shell and he is still alive? And I can’t instant kill a guy with a MG shell on the torse? 20MM HE shell has literaly no explode effect, I shoot in a house and the guy in 50cm explode range still won’t get hurt at all, I have to use my HE shell on human body to get real damage. Tanks are too weak and feels like not worth it to play
tanks are incredibly strong if not dealt with
20 and 37mm HE shells have pitiful amounts of explosive filler but direct hits to people do one shot regardless of HE or AP, you’re probably just splashing and missing them. Tank VS Tank combat isnt about killing the tank, its about killing the crew inside; 20mm and 37mm AP rounds have no explosive filler so you need to know where inside the tank the crew sit and line them up with where you can penetrate their armour.
As for the MGs they down people in 1-3 shots depending on where you hit which makes finishing them on the floor real easy, and considering you’re spraying from ammo reserves that count in the hundreds, you’re not exactly short on killing ability.
Also explosion packs are a 1HKO for tanks if you can land the charge under or ontop of the tank (which makes sense), For a bomb that can already wipe tanks how much more buff do you think they need to be? Cant kill a tank any harder so it would just improve its anti infantry ability.
No. As was mentioned already, APHE behaves fishy (more like AP round most of the time), thus you need to aim on the crew (thus, shooting same spot over and over again is useless). But that does not make tanks too hard to play or useless, because if tanker knows what is he doing, he can be truly a menace to the enemy team. Just treat it like solid shot until it gets fixed, and you can´t go wrong with that.
But of course, there are also glorified Rambos charging into enemy and then complain they got killed but that is not really game´s fault.
HE is problem by itself, currently tanks are usually using bad or incorrect (aka obsolete) shells, those should be replaced.
As for MG damage, them needing multiple hits is balancing factor to not make tanks in at least somewhat competent hands completely god-like. Is it unrealistic? Yeah… pretty much. But for purpose of gameplay I´m willing to make that very small sacrifice.
Definitely needs a look at. This AM … I was firing 37mm HE rounds point blank (about 10m ) into a concrete bunker slit (opening ) and was getting no kills. Alternately firing MG as well …
The only way I was able to get kills is if a soldier jumped up to fire through the opening then I could fire directly at him and get a kill. I got about 3 or 4 kills this way but only because they kept exposing themselves in the opening,
There should have been enough fragmentation going off from the 37MM HE to make it unnecessary to target directly …

HE are pretty much useless right now. You can shoot it right in front of someones toes and not do any damage. They don’t always oneshot on direct impact either, I’ve had grey hitmarkers on direct hits with them before. Currently they’re just worse AP rounds.
the 75mm HE on the sherman and m8 scott are actually effective in both anti tank and anti personnel
I haven’t used the allied tanks yet, but the HE shells underperform a lot on the German tanks so far imo. At times they show splash but 9-10 times I need a direct hit with them to do damage. Might as well use the machine gun for that.
i know, my main issue playing the puma is that it doesn’t carry enough HE and i stay alive for such a long time by their spawn i would have exhausted all of my HE shells
I Think the problem too is when the round penetrate the armor should fragment which will damage the crew even if you don’t hit it directly
German 37mm is shockingly bad. You quite literally have to pick off every single enemy tanker, like it’s an oversized rifle! Meanwhile, Soviet 45mm takes out three quarters of your crew in one hit, and fires just as fast (if not faster in my experience).
What I want to know, is where is the Panzer III Ausf. H, which has the more comparable 5 cm KwK 38 L/42. It’s conspicuous by its absence.
The first tanks you get are pretty much stone throwers with no explosive within them. Of course they will not kill the crew on first impact. Later on it will become much easier. I can already oneshot pumas with HE shell of the M8. Just grind them out.
Was just playing as the german anti-tank, with the AT grenade pistol thing. Enemy M5A1 there. Shot it side of turret: “losses 2 tankers”… reloaded, same again, 2 more. Side of hull, 2 more (???), rear of hull, 2 more. Jumped on top, dropped an explosives pack on it (pretty sure I did, maybe I missed somehow?), the thing’s still going.
How do I kill 8 people in an M5A1 and it’s still going?

It does not say how many have you killed but how many are dead/alive within the tank
Talking about the Moscow campaign, there are two German tanks with 37mm guns, and one with a short 75mm. They don’t even have an armour advantage to offset the gun disadvantage. It’s just odd.
Edit: The Panzer III Ausf. B should be replaced by the Ausf. E, and the Ausf. F introduced with the 5 cm KwK 38 L/42.

they are a bit wonky as sometimes they’ll destroy barbed wire, other times they won’t, and if a tank is barely out of the way of the dem pack the tank will live
