Currently when we score a killing shot, tank instantly explodes. But irl it takes a second or two for the tank to be set on fire and explode.
(Videos may be concidered drastic.)

I really doubt that’s gonna happen at the rate the game is going right now tanks are just eternal burning geysers it’s definitely what the devs intended at this point
Even WT do not properly reflect this imho. There’s no chance.
IRL tanks may take hour of burning until they finally explode, those where they explode in a few seconds or immediately are the outliers.
In game they explode isnstantly.
I want them to wait 1s and then have a few seconds of burnout animation and explode (maybe 5s in total).
It shouldn’t be that hard to write delay(1000);
There is burnout animation in game. Sometime the tank will instantly explode, sometime it will burnout.
I haven’t seen it yet.
Anyway explosions should also get slight dealy with some smoke and sparks before exploding.
Some explosion aren’t even real life explosion, they are just tank explode cause by all crew get killed, that is just game mechanic.
Good suggestion, and please add the chance for the turret to fly off if ammo is hit catastrophically
If every crew member is killed the tank just explodes, it doesnt have a roman candle aka the ammo cook off.
Ok, this explains a thing or two.
And the animation actually looks decent.
Modern tanks turret flying off is a characteristic of modern design that puts a lot of trust on gravity to hold the turret in place, WW2 tanks while still subject to such effect it was a way smaller proportion.
Oh, that’s interesting.
I think that’s completely made up nonsense. You can see lot historical photos of turrets meters away from hulls.

Trust me bro
But yeah just a quick google search:
The T34 had its turret blown off quite often as the fuel and ammunition was stored in the fighting compartment.
Besides, most tanks that have their turret blown off are the soviet style with the autoloader and ammunition storage under the turret, where tanks like the Abrams have their ammunition stored in a separate part of the tank with blowout panels.
Your source: internet told me so
Just a quick google research
I even have a T-34 up there on the images, as i said on my previous comment, WW2 tanks still suffered from this effect BUT ON A SMALLER PROPORTION.
And that’s true as long as is remembered that they USUALLY still take hours of cooking until the explosion usually happens, only on a smaller proportion of the shots the ammo immediately explodes. Western tanks like the Abrams and Leopard don’t suffer from this in combat as you said due to their blowout panels, but they still have the bad habit of sometimes losing turrets when inexperienced crews take them on unnapropriated ledges.
