Currently if you have a radio operator in your squad you can call for indirect fire approximately every 3 mins.
In addition to calling for fire every 3 mins your radio operator may attempt to request fire from any radio squad that has spawned into battle from your team.
If there is a radio squad that is available to fire a mission then they will receive the request popup on their screen. Perhaps this can be the mini map pop up with the proposed location for the strike?
If the radio squad approves the location then the mission is executed and it’s counted as a fire mission called in by that radio squad. The radio squads timer is set to 0 …
Also any XP accumulated from the fire mission should be shared between the the player who originally initiated the call and the Player controlling the Radio squad who executed the fire mission.

That would be very interesting.
Yes sometimes when I am playing my Arty squad I find myself in a covered location (what good does it do if he gets himself killed) and trying to guess where the best place would be to lay down my arty mission
It would be so much better if I had someone with eyes on the objective to direct me where to fire. And actually in RL this is how arty is called in.
You have a FDC (fire direction center ) that recives a call from an FO (forward observer ) … And the FO tells the FDC where to put the rounds…
What I do is have 2 radio ops (for redundancy, one lucky kill and my whole squad’s role is rendered inert? not gonna happen), 1 bomber to protect from those pumas that push deep into the backlines for whatever reason, engineer mostly for ammo boxes and a sniper I use to spot targets and get a few long range kills.
