Obivously France and low countries front such as Belgium and The Netherlands and the Winter War
Darkflow/Gaijin: best I can do is a premium squad with a $99.99 “prototype M1 Abrams” because technically it’s named after Creighton Abrams and he served in WW2, so this counts as WW2.
And we wanted to avoid depriving the USA of a pleasant new addition.
Nah let’s add new French/Finnish weapon for the Germany/USA - Dark “Gaijin” clogged flow
Winter War I’m not so sure about. It’s plausible yes but for now no because they’d have to make a Finnish faction.
This Axis timeline begins in 1941 with the battle of Moscow. I’d like to see earlier battles like Barbarossa.
The problem with the Allies is currently Britain and America are joined so we can’t have earlier campaigns. What are we going to have the Battle of Norway with Americans showing up 2 years early. The Allies timeline begins in 1942 when America and Britain join forces
1940 is when the war really got going so I’d like to see that period. I don’t know if we could get Poland because then we’d need a Polish faction.
Honestly the only thing in the way of having the 1940 campaigns and even specific battles like the 1941 British defense of Crete or the early British North African campaign is the Allies being forced into a single faction. If we had independent America, Britain, and France factions then there’d be no problem
France could definitely work as a faction, and Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg) could be added as a sub faction for France.
France could be a faction that shows up in three ways :
-
During the Invasion of France maps they show up as regular French military, and Benelux.
-
During other maps they show up as either the allies of Germany, as Vichy France
-
Or during other maps they show up as French Resistance, fighting along with the US or Commonwealth.
Finland could be a faction but they would probably also need Continuation War maps too, otherwise they would be a faction with a small tech tree. (Which could be fine, but maybe Devs want all factions to be able to go up to BR 5).
Personally I want France to be added more than anything. Also Italy and Commonwealth separated into their own trees, and Italian maps added. Also more variety for Eastern Front maps, such as Leningrad.
I can’t see them ever adding Poland as its own faction. If they ever add Poland it will probably be as a sub faction of the Soviets, the Polish Resistance.
Early War Poland could be interesting though, since you would get some matches where you fight the Germans, and other matches where you fight the Soviets.
(Finland and France can also be factions that fight multiple enemies, since Finland fought the Germans in the Lapland War, and Vichy France being a puppet state of the Germans)
Literally this.
Precisely, which is why Ive been advocating for separate UK-Commonwealth.
I also try and remind people that as well as separate early war battles like Norway, France or Greece.
Separate trees would also mean United States only battles like the Philippines, Okinawa, Iwo Jima, Saipan etc
Agree with all the points here.
Please see my post about a France-Poland-Netherlands-Belgium faction.
I often see people admit that France or Poland on their own wouldnt work, let alone BENELUX, so why not put them together?
This combination would also mean French Resistance is unnecessary because between those four countries you cover basically all fronts.
Eg. Free France + UK (including Canada) + USA on D Day
France + UK (and Norway) in Norway
USA + UK (including New Zealand) Free Polish in Battle for Italy (eg Monte Cassino)
France + UK + Poland + BENELUX for early war Battle for France and the Low Countries.
UK (including Australia, New Zealand, British India) + Free Polish + Free French in the desert, + USA depending on the exact location.
UK (including Australia and New Zealand) + Netherlands in the Pacific
Im not sure if the Dutch and the Americans fought alongside but I think it would be acceptable to have UK + Netherlands + USA queued together.
Poland + UK (including Australia & New Zealand) and Greece in Greek/Crete campaign.
Poland could be queued with USSR for Berlin as well.
For Finland I would make Italy a separate faction and make it Italy + Other Axis Nations
Finland
Hungary
Romania
Croatia
Slovakia.
For both of these instances all uniforms would swap to the appropriate faction so if its Dutch in the Pacific all French, Polish and Belgian soldiers become Dutch, likewise if its a Winter War or Continuation War map all the soldiers become Finnish.
Where multiple different nations fought alongside each other the players squad uniform choices apply. Eg for Battle for France I might have a French, Belgian and Free Polish squad in my lineup and they can all fight in their national uniform.
Would love all the new factions but honestly new maps are a better idea. When they released the new maps for Japan I was thrilled. It gets to repetitive on the same maps.
Polish event/premium squads can be easily added to both USA and the Soviets. Actually Soviet part is less impressive or important as their contribution to the British/USA at least not till 1944-1945
There were more of them at Armia Krajowa as resistance fighters than Polish soldiers at newly formed Polish forces (two battalions). Soviets neglected Anders army so they joined UK (195k of them up to 228k in 1945). So having Poles only on Soviet side that neglected them so much would be like spitting in our faces but still it’s part of history so i wouldn’t mind some unique squad or two especially when it’s around 44-45 where they were finally better equipped.
I woudl say Manchuria is my number one, maybe Mongolia too.
The Manchuria one would be killer. I think the Finnish front would be the absolute best.
Complete nitpicks. We are literally getting Japanese running with Ofenrohr on Guadalcanal.
So I really have no idea why should be western allies seperated into several tech trees with copy pasted stuff. Your arguments are completely outdated.
Plus seperated tech trees for minor nations are clearly anti player. As they won’t allow you to combine squads from Allied nations.
Anyway.
A much better solution would be to automatically enforce nationalities through customisation to specific campaigns (ability to switch nationalities in customisation will happen very soon).
So just don’t allow certain nationalities to be available in specific customization preset for specific campaigns.
I fail to see reason for existence of seperate tech trees for minor nations. That’s simply very dumb and anti player idea.
And it would only cripple MM down.
